Overview

The BATTISTELLA ANDROMEDA MAX VAP (model 2009) is a professional ironing system designed for efficient and high-quality garment finishing. It is manufactured in Italy and comes in two versions: standard and maxi board, offering flexibility for different user needs.

Function Description

The ANDROMEDA MAX VAP is an advanced ironing board with integrated steam, vacuum, and blowing functions. Its primary purpose is to provide a comprehensive solution for ironing various garments, from delicate fabrics to heavy knitwear. The machine features a heated ironing board, a powerful boiler for continuous steam generation, and motors for vacuum and blowing, which aid in drying and shaping garments. It can be used with one or two irons, a steam pistol, or a steam brush, depending on the accessories connected. The electronic control card manages all functions, allowing users to set temperatures, motor speeds, and monitor operational status.

Important Technical Specifications

Power Supply: Both models operate on a 400 V ~ + NEUTRAL / 50Hz power supply. Total Installed Power: The standard model has a total installed power of 9140 W, while the maxi board model has 9640 W. Power of Iron: 800 W for both models. Boiler Power: 6000 W for both models. Board Power: 1100 W for the standard model, 1600 W for the maxi board model. Suction/Blowing Power: 0.5 hp. + 0.5 hp. for both models. Pump Power: 0.7 hp. for both models. Boiler Capacity: 10 L. for both models. Ironing Endurance: Continuous for both models. Operating Steam Pressure: 5 BAR for both models. Weight: 112 kg for the standard model, 115 kg for the maxi board model. Overall Dimensions: 59x160x94h. cm for both models. Optional Accessories: Sleeve ironing arm (150 W), 2nd iron (800 W), brush (500 W).

Usage Features

Installation: Requires a water connection with a pressure resistance of at least 10 ATM (8/13 mm diameter hose) and a protected electrical outlet suitable for the machine's power. It is crucial to clean the water conduit by exhausting a few liters of water before connecting the hose. Operating Modes:

  • Stand-by Mode: Activated when the main switch is turned on (red LED). Allows access to the SET menu for configuring language, maintenance warnings, and other settings.
  • Standard Mode: Activated by pressing the start key. Enables control over ironing functions such as motor speeds, ironing board temperature (adjustable from 0°C to 90°C, or 120°C on steaming models), boiler on/off, light on/off, steam pistol/brush on/off, and iron on/off. Ironing Process:
  • Steam Ironing: Run the iron on garments while pressing the micro-switch and the vacuum pedal. For drying, keep the foot on the vacuum pedal longer. The thermostat should be set to "cotton" position for steam ironing.
  • Dry Ironing: Adjust the thermostat according to the fabric type.
  • Steaming Pedal: Used to provide steam to the ironing board, especially for knitwear. After steaming, immediately use the vacuum pedal to dry the garment. For frequent steaming, it is recommended to connect an air outlet pipe.
  • Blowing Function: A pedal for blowing is available for garments requiring this function.
  • Safety: Always place the iron on its rest when not in use. Ensure cables do not twine or touch the ironing board to prevent short circuits. Never iron garments directly on persons. Water Management: Use only tap water; never add additives. Empty the boiler once a week when it is cold and the plug is disconnected, ensuring pressure is below 0.5 BAR. Always ensure there is water in the water tank (if equipped) or the water tap is on before operating. Electronic Card Warnings: The machine displays warnings for required maintenance (filter cleaning, cover changing) and malfunctions (temperature probe, pump blockage, boiler overheating). These warnings guide the user on necessary interventions.

Maintenance Features

Periodical Maintenance (Customer or Authorized Service Centre):

  • Cover Replacement: Every 700 hours (indicated by an icon). The cover can be washed.
  • Iron Replacement: As needed (refer to Fig. 1).
  • Solenoid Valve Coil Replacement: As needed (refer to Fig. 1).
  • Steam Hose Replacement: As needed (refer to Fig. 4).
  • Water Inlet Filter Cleaning: When the warning icon appears, or more often if water is impure. This involves turning off the water supply, unscrewing the filter plug, cleaning the filter with running water, and reassembling it, checking for leaks.
  • Boiler Probe Cleaning: When the warning icon appears. This involves opening the rear panel, unscrewing the probe, cleaning it with fine-grain scrubbing paper to remove encrustation, and reassembling it, checking for leaks under pressure.
  • Motor Cleaning: Switch off the current, open the rear panel, and clean the inside with compressed air. Compulsory Periodical Maintenance (Authorized Service Centres, Qualified Technicians, or Manufacturer Only):
  • Signaled by a specific icon on the display. Contact the reseller, Authorized Service Centre, or manufacturer for this intervention. The "general maintenance" icon will be reset by authorized personnel after completion. Fuse Replacement:
  • Electronic Card Fuses: Located on the electronic card (Fig. 2). To access, turn off the main switch (position "0") and unscrew four panel screws. Replace with interchangeable fuses of the same performance.
  • Power Current Fuses (400V-32A): Located near the electronic card. Check these if electronic card fuses are intact. Access by turning off the main switch and unscrewing four panel screws. Replace with interchangeable fuses of the same performance. Software Updates: If "SOFTWARE UPDATE NEEDED" is displayed, contact the Authorized Service Centre to update the software. Troubleshooting: In case of anomalous boiler overheating, turn off the main switch, wait for 30 minutes, and restart. If the problem persists, contact the Authorized Service Centre.

The ANDROMEDA MAX VAP is designed for durability, with an expected lifespan of 7 years under normal working conditions (8 hours/day, 5 days/week). Proper disposal of the machine's iron components and other parts is emphasized through the crossed rubbish bin symbol, promoting environmental protection.
