The BATTISTELLA SOLE M and SOLE M VAP are ironing boards designed for domestic use, offering both vacuum and blowing functions to facilitate efficient and delicate garment care. These models are manufactured in Italy and come with a comprehensive instruction manual that details their specifications, operation, and maintenance.
The primary function of the SOLE M and SOLE M VAP ironing boards is to provide a stable and efficient surface for ironing. They are equipped with a built-in boiler to generate steam, an iron, and a heated ironing board with vacuum and blowing capabilities. The vacuum function helps to stretch garments and eliminate humidity, ensuring a crisp finish and preventing water stagnation. The blowing function is particularly useful for ironing delicate garments, preventing direct contact with the hot iron plate and allowing for gentle shaping.
The SOLE M VAP model includes an additional feature that enables steaming directly from the ironing board, which is ideal for knitwear and heavy garments. This function is activated via a dedicated switch, and the blowing function is automatically engaged when board steaming is active.

Opening and Setup: Upon unpacking, users should carefully read the instruction manual. The iron cable support and spring need to be assembled, and the iron placed on its rubber rest. If an optional ironing arm is provided, it should be assembled and fixed. The ironing board's height can be adjusted by pulling a hand lever and extending the legs until the desired height is reached. The board should then be placed horizontally.
Connection and Start-up: Before connecting to power, the safety valve plug must be unscrewed, and the boiler filled with drinkable water using a funnel, taking care not to overfill. The plug is then re-screwed, and the power supply cable inserted into a 230V 16A socket. The boiler and iron switches are then turned on, and the iron thermostat set to "cotton." The machine is ready for ironing once the boiler lamp switches off, indicating optimum pressure. To ensure saturated steam, the iron's micro-switch should be pressed 4-5 times with the iron pointed downwards.
Ironing Modes: The ironing board offers both continuous and manual operation for vacuum and blowing functions. In manual mode, steam is released, and the fan is activated each time the iron's micro-switch is pressed. Users can select between vacuum and blowing functions via a dedicated switch. For delicate, black, or blue garments, using an anti-sheen shoe is recommended. For dry ironing, the iron's thermostat can be adjusted based on fabric type. For steam ironing, it should be set to "cotton" or "linen."
Safety Warnings: Several general warnings are provided to ensure safe operation. The device should be connected to a suitable protected socket, kept out of reach of children, and always placed on a sturdy surface. Garments should not be left on the board when it is on, and the machine should only be used when correctly opened and with the cover properly positioned. Only drinkable water should be used, and no additives should be added to the water. The safety valve plug should never be opened while the machine is in use or replaced with non-original types. The iron should never be left on the board or garments when switched on, nor placed directly on the metal part of the iron rest. Ironing directly on persons or things is prohibited, and the board is not designed for sitting or leaning. The device should be kept away from inflammable or thermo-labile parts.

Storage: Before closing and storing the ironing board, ensure both the board and iron are cold and the plug is disconnected. The iron should be hooked onto its rest. The board is then slightly lifted upwards, and the height adjustment lever is pulled completely to close the board. The SOLE M is equipped with wheels for easy movement. It should only be stowed in a vertical position and never upside down.
Boiler Release: The boiler can be separated from the ironing board by disconnecting its plug, loosening two knobs, and pulling the boiler outwards.
Warranty and Disposal: The manufacturer's warranty is void if repairs are carried out by unauthorized personnel, instructions are not followed, due to poor storage or maintenance, customer-caused damages, non-manufacturing defects, fortuitous events, limescale, use of incorrect water, use for purposes other than specified, or use of non-genuine spare parts.
The device must be disposed of according to directive 2012/19/UE on waste electrical and electronic equipment, meaning it should not be treated as household waste. It must be handed over to an applicable collection point for recycling to prevent negative environmental and health consequences.
