Overview

The BE Power Equipment P1915EN is a 2,000 PSI electric pressure washer designed for various cleaning tasks. This manual provides comprehensive instructions for its setup, operation, and maintenance, aiming to ensure optimal performance and user safety.

Function Description:

The P1915EN is an electric pressure washer that uses a high-pressure stream of water to clean surfaces. It is designed to remove dirt, grime, and other debris from a variety of objects and areas, such as vehicles, patios, decks, and siding. The unit operates by connecting to a standard garden hose for water supply and a grounded 120-volt electrical outlet for power. It features an auto-start/stop system that activates the pump when the spray gun trigger is squeezed and deactivates it when released, helping to conserve energy and prolong pump life. The pressure washer is equipped with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for enhanced electrical safety, particularly for US units. Detergents specifically formulated for pressure washers can be used with the included foam cannon, applied at low pressure to maximize cleaning effectiveness.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Number: P1915EN
  • Max PSI (pounds per square inch): 2000
  • Max GPM (gallons per minute): 1.7
  • Cold Water: Yes (designed for cold water use only)
  • Volts: 120
  • Frequency (Hz): 60
  • Amps: 13
  • Weight (lbs.): 21.8

Usage Features:

The pressure washer comes with several components to facilitate various cleaning applications:

  • Spray Gun: The primary control for directing the high-pressure water stream. It includes a trigger safety lock to prevent accidental engagement.
  • Zinc Steel Lance: Connects to the spray gun and holds the quick-connect nozzles.
  • Quick Connect Nozzles: Includes a 15°-Yellow nozzle for general cleaning and a rotary nozzle for tougher jobs. The manual also references a high-pressure foam cannon (34 oz.) for detergent application.
  • High Pressure Hose: Connects the power washer unit to the spray gun, designed to withstand high pressure.
  • Garden Hose Adapter: Connects the unit to a standard garden hose.
  • Nozzle Tray: A convenient storage location for the nozzles when not in use.
  • Handle: Extendable and lowerable for ease of transport and storage.
  • Hose Hook: For organized storage of the high-pressure hose.

Assembly and Setup:

Assembly is straightforward, estimated at 5 minutes, requiring only a Phillips screwdriver. Key steps include:

  1. Power Unit Assembly: Slide the spray gun holster onto the left side of the power washer unit.
  2. Nozzle Tray Installation: Slip the tab of the nozzle tray into its slot on the bottom left of the unit and secure it with a screw (AA). Avoid overtightening.
  3. High Pressure Hose Assembly: Screw the high-pressure hose clockwise onto the bottom front of the power washer unit. Ensure the collar is threaded onto the outlet threads until hand tight (at least six turns). Firmly push the other end of the hose into the spray gun and twist the collar to secure it.
  4. Spray Gun Locking: Before lance installation, lock the spray gun trigger by turning the dial to the "3" or "9" position.
  5. Lance Installation: With the spray gun locked, insert the lance into the end of the spray gun and turn clockwise until fully in place.
  6. Nozzle Attachment: Attach quick-connect nozzles (15°-Yellow or rotary) to the end of the lance by pressing them into place until a "click" is heard. Always lock the trigger when changing nozzles.
  7. Garden Hose Adapter Installation: Attach the garden hose adapter directly to the water inlet of the power washer unit and hand tighten.
  8. Handle Assembly: Install the handle to the power washer unit and secure it with screws (BB). Align holes before inserting screws.
  9. Hose Hook Assembly: Install the hose hook onto the back of the handle and secure it with three screws (AA).

Operating Instructions:

  1. Power Switch: Ensure the "ON/OFF" switch is in the "OFF" (O) position.
  2. Power Cord: Unwind the power cord completely and plug the GFCI into a grounded 120-volt outlet.
  3. Water Supply: Turn on the water supply at the faucet completely.
  4. Purging Air: Release the safety push trigger lock, point the spray gun in a safe direction, and squeeze the trigger until a steady stream of water flows, purging air from the hose. Then, push the trigger lock back down.
  5. Start Unit: Turn the power switch to the "ON" (|) position. The unit will turn on for 1-2 seconds and shut off (normal auto-start function). Squeeze the spray gun trigger to begin pressure washing.
  6. Detergent Application: Attach the QC Foam Cannon to the lance. Fill it with properly formulated detergent (avoid thick gel-like detergents). The unit pulls a 10:1 water-to-detergent ratio, adjustable via the detergent knob on the cannon. Apply detergent to dry surfaces, working from bottom to top on vertical surfaces.
  7. Safety Tips: Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first. Never spray directly at people, animals, electrical devices, or the unit itself. Wear eye protection. Hold the spray gun with two hands initially to get used to the "kickback." Discharge pressure after use by pointing the gun in a safe direction and pulling the trigger.

Maintenance Features:

  • Storage: After use, turn off the power switch, unplug the cord, turn off the water supply, and relieve residual pressure by squeezing the trigger 2-3 times. Disconnect hoses and lances, storing them in their designated spots. Discard any remaining detergent and flush the bottle and nozzle with fresh water to prevent clogging.
  • Freezing Protection: DO NOT store the pressure washer where it is exposed to freezing temperatures unless a pump saver (antifreeze) is used. Freezing water can damage internal components.
  • Pump Saver: A product (BE Power Equipment part number: 85.490.046) that lubricates and protects the pump from freezing and internal corrosion. To use, turn off the unit, disconnect the gun, attach the pump saver bottle to the garden hose adapter, turn on the unit, squeeze the bottle to introduce the fluid, and turn off the unit when the pump saver exits the water outlet.
  • Nozzle Cleaning: Clogged nozzles can reduce pressure and cause pulsation. Turn off the unit and water supply, relieve pressure. Use the provided nozzle tip cleaner (or a straightened paper clip) to dislodge debris. Back flush water through the nozzles with a garden hose.
  • Garden Hose Adapter Cleaning: Periodically clean the screen inside the garden hose adapter by removing it and rinsing with clean water.
  • O-Ring Maintenance: Regularly clean and lubricate the o-rings on the bayonet end of the nozzle lance with non-water soluble grease (e.g., petroleum jelly). An O-Ring Kit (K) is included for replacements if leaks occur.

Troubleshooting:

The manual includes a detailed troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the unit not turning on, hose connection problems, no water flow, leaks, and difficulty removing the lance. For technical support, users can call 1-866-850-6662.

Limited Warranty:

BE Power Equipment Inc. offers a one-year warranty to the original retail purchaser, covering defects in material and workmanship under regular operational use. The warranty starts from the date of purchase and requires valid proof of purchase. It does not cover failures due to lack of service, negligence, abuse, misuse (including freezing damage, chemical deterioration, incorrect fuel/water/power supply), or normal wear items like o-rings, valves, seals, and filters. Warranty claims require taking the product and proof of purchase to an authorized BE Power Equipment service center.
