The BeamZ LF-Series Low Fog Machine is a professional device designed to produce a dense, low-lying fog effect, ideal for stage performances, events, and architectural lighting applications. This user manual provides comprehensive instructions for safe operation, installation, maintenance, and DMX control.
Function Description
The LF-Series Low Fog Machine creates a heavy fog that stays close to the ground, mimicking the effect of dry ice without the need for specialized equipment or hazardous materials. It achieves this by cooling standard fog fluid, causing the fog to remain low. The machine can be controlled via DMX512, offering precise control over fog output and fan speed, or through its integrated control panel.

- Wireless: Activates/deactivates the wireless remote control.
- DMX512 Control: The device can be integrated into a DMX lighting system using a standard DMX controller. It utilizes two DMX channels:
- Channel 1 (Fog): Controls fog output from 000 (no function) to 255 (full output).
- Channel 2 (Fan): Controls fan speed from 000 (low speed) to 255 (high speed).
The DMX address is highly adjustable, with a default of 509.
- Installation: The machine should be placed on a flat, stable surface with at least 50 cm of open space around it for proper ventilation. It requires a power supply connection and should be filled with BeamZ low fog fluid and distilled water in their respective tanks.
- Safety Instructions: The manual emphasizes critical safety precautions, including:
- Always connect to a grounded power outlet.
- Never operate if the power cord is damaged.
- Avoid direct contact with hot surfaces or escaping fog.
- Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent overheating.
- Use only BeamZ brand fog fluid and distilled water to prevent damage and maintain warranty.
- Do not modify the unit.
- Keep a minimum distance of 1 meter (3.28 ft) from flammable, combustible objects and sensitive materials.
- Never point the fog at strong sources of ignition.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the LF-Series Low Fog Machine:
- Cleaning:
- The unit should be cleaned frequently, especially the nozzle.
- Disconnect from mains before starting maintenance.
- Ensure the fluid does not become contaminated.
- Ensure air vents are not clogged by dust.
- Do not allow the unit to run dry without fluid.
- Wipe up spilled fluid immediately.
- Clean the surface of the unit with a suitable, solvent-free cleaner.
- It is recommended to run the unit on a monthly basis to achieve best performance and output condition.
- Before storing the unit, fill the fluid reservoir with BeamZ cleaning fluid (160.670) and let it pump through the system to prevent condensation on the pump or heater.
- If the ultrasonic element has become dirty, it can be cleaned with cleaning vinegar.
- Replacing the Fuse:
- If the fuse is defective, replace it with one of the same type and value.
- Procedure:
- Open the fuse holder on the rear panel with a fitting screwdriver.
- Remove the old fuse from the fuse holder.
- Install the new fuse in the fuse holder.
- Replace the fuse holder in the housing.
