How do I fit a Gentle Leader?
Step by step guide to fitting a Gentle Leader
•Follow the instructions carefully taking the time to adjust the Gentle Leader to fit the
contours of your dog’s face for a comfortable fit
•Throughout the fitting process & during initial use of a Gentle Leader, motivate &
encourage your dog with praise & tasty treats.
•Step 1
Attach lead to Control Ring (Fig A)
•Step 2
Open neck strap, holding one end in each hand.
Nose loop and lead should hang down to form
the letter ‘T’ (Fig B)

Summary

Fitting a Gentle Leader

Step 1: Attach Lead

Attach the lead to the control ring as shown in Figure A.

Step 2: Form the 'T'

Hold the neck strap ends, letting the nose loop and lead form a 'T' shape.

Step 3: Neck Strap Placement

Fit the neck strap high on the neck, snug above the Adam's Apple, allowing one finger space.

Step 4: Remove Neck Strap

Take the neck strap off your dog after checking the fit.

Step 5: Adjust Sliding Clamp

Slide the clamp down to the control ring and pull the nose loop through the D-ring.

Step 6: Position Nose Loop

Place the nose loop over the dog's nose and buckle the neck strap.

Step 7: Final Adjustments

Adjust nose loop under the jaw for a secure but comfortable fit and start walking.
