Usage Features:
- Getting Started: The tablet and stylus pen should be sufficiently charged before use. The tablet is powered on by pressing the 'Power' button for 3 seconds, indicated by a green light. It enters sleep mode if unused for an hour and automatically shuts down after three keys are pressed. The stylus pen remains on and enters sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity, awakening when its tip is brought close to the screen.
- Writing: Writing can be done with or without power. When powered on, the indicator light turns brighter green upon stylus detection, and strokes are recorded. The pressure-sensitive screen allows for varying line thickness. Writing without power is possible, but work cannot be saved or transferred.
- Erasing: To erase a page, press the 'back' button twice. An 'Erase Lock Mode' key on the right side prevents accidental erasing.
- Saving: Work can be saved to the tablet's 8MB built-in memory by pressing and holding the save button for 3-5 seconds, creating a new blank page. Saved files are in .PNG format. The resolution of saved files depends on the connected Android or iOS device's screen resolution, with higher resolution devices saving files at higher resolutions. The tablet can save approximately 500 pages of notes or 200 pages of drawings/sketches. An indicator light switches from green to red when memory is full, preventing further saving.
- Bluetooth Connectivity: The BP-1000 uses energy-efficient Bluetooth 4.0 to connect to Android and iOS devices via the eDraw app. The eDraw app offers two options: 'iDraw' for painting/drawing and 'iNote' for saving notes.
- eDraw App Installation: The eDraw app can be downloaded from Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS) by searching for 'eDraw' or scanning a provided QR code. Upon first use, users must agree to a service agreement and privacy policy and grant permissions for accessing photos, media, files, and camera.
- Connecting to Devices (iDraw): After installing the eDraw app and ensuring Bluetooth is on, open the app and select 'iDraw'. From the 'My works' gallery, tap the '+' button, then choose 'Handwriting drawing' for live synchronization or 'Uploading historical Works' to transfer saved files.
- Connecting to Devices (iNote): For notes, select 'iNote' from the app's initial screen. Tap the '+' button in 'My notes' to create a new notebook folder, name it, and then tap the '+' button inside the folder to choose 'New notes' for live synchronization or 'Upload History Notes' to transfer saved notes.
- File Transfer: Saved work from the BeaverPad's memory can be transferred to a phone using the 'iDraw' or 'iNote' options in the eDraw app. After selecting 'Uploading historical Works' (for iDraw) or 'Upload History Notes' (for iNote), files are uploaded. Users can select/deselect files and then tap the 'Save' icon to save them to their device, where they can be accessed in the eDraw folder or shared.
- Live Synchronization: With the eDraw app open and connected (via 'Handwriting drawing' in iDraw or 'New notes' in iNote), bringing the stylus tip near the BeaverPad's screen will display a cursor on the app, indicating readiness for synchronization. Any writing or drawing on the BeaverPad will be replicated in real-time on the device's screen. Work can be saved directly to the eDraw app's gallery by pressing the BeaverPad's save button for 3 seconds, or by tapping the save icon in the app (which does not erase the drawing from the BeaverPad).
- Deleting the BeaverPad from eDraw app: To remove the device from the eDraw app, go to 'About' in the app, then 'My equipment', and tap the delete icon next to the device listed.
- Graphics Tablet Usage (Windows & macOS): Connect the BeaverPad to a computer via the micro USB port. The stylus pen can function as a mouse (single click, double click, right click, scroll forward/backward) or as a drawing device.
- Driver Installation: Download the Windows or macOS driver from beaverpad.ca/downloads.html. Install the driver and restart the computer if prompted. A successful installation will show an icon in the notification area (Windows) or launch folder (macOS). The driver icon will be colorful when connected and greyed out when disconnected.
- Driver Configuration: The driver program has four tabs: 'Press Keys', 'Pen', 'Work Area', and 'About'.
- Press Keys: Customize the buttons on the BeaverPad. Keys are 'Undefined' by default and can be assigned shortcuts (e.g., 'E' for Erase in Photoshop). The BeaverPad recognizes up to 5 keys, with 3 customizable in the driver.
- Pen: Configure stylus pen settings like tip feel (soft/firm), click sensitivity (min/max), and pressure distance (off/wide).
- Work Area: Adjust the display area for the graphics tablet functionality. Users can choose to use one or both monitors, or select a specific portion of the screen to mirror the BeaverPad's input. Options include 'Full Area', 'Display Ratio', and 'Custom Area', with rotation settings (0°, 90°, 180°, 270°).
- About: View driver version information and import/export configurations. Default settings can be restored. Configurations can be saved as XML files for backup and restoration.
