XENYX Controls Detailed Descriptions

MIC Input

Balanced mic input with +48V phantom power for condenser microphones.

LINE IN (Mono)

Balanced line input on 1/4" connector; accepts unbalanced mono jacks.

GAIN Control

Adjusts input gain. Turn fully counterclockwise when connecting/disconnecting signals.

Equalizer (EQ)

3-band EQ (2-band on Q502USB) with boost/cut up to 15 dB.

LOW CUT Filter

Steep LOW CUT filter (-3 dB at 75 Hz) to eliminate unwanted low-frequency signals.

FX Send

FX sends enable feeding signals to a bus for external effects devices.

PAN Control

Determines channel signal position within the stereo image with constant-power characteristic.

LEVEL Control

Determines the level of the channel signal in the main mix.

CLIP LED

CLIP LED indicates input signal is too high, causing distortion. Reduce GAIN.

LINE IN (Stereo)

Stereo channel line inputs on 1/4" jacks for left and right; operates in mono if only 'L' jack is used.

FX (Stereo)

Activates phantom power supply for mono channel XLR inputs; red LED lights up.

POWER Indicator

Indicates that the console is powered on.

High-precision 4-segment display accurately shows the relevant signal level.

COMP Control

Adjusts the amount of compression effect applied to the channel.

PHANTOM Button
