Function Description

The Beko Kettle is an electric appliance designed for boiling water for household and similar applications. It features a spout for pouring, an internal water filter, a lid with a release button, a handle, a water level indicator, and an On/Off switch. The kettle operates on a base that houses a cable coil for storage.

Usage Features

  • Preparation:
    • Before first use, remove all packaging and stickers.
    • Clean all parts that come into contact with water.
    • Completely unroll the power cord from the cable coil on the base and pass it through the slot.
    • Clean the kettle thoroughly before initial use and discard the water from the first two boiling cycles.
  • Operation:
    • Open the lid by pressing the lid release button. The lid opens automatically.
    • Fill the water tank with water. Do not place the water tank on the base while filling.
    • Ensure the water level is between the minimum and maximum indicators. Never fill above maximum (boiling water may splash out) or below minimum.
    • Close the lid until it clicks into place. The lid should always be closed during boiling for automatic shut-off.
    • Place the water tank on the base, ensuring it is upright and stable.
    • Insert the plug into a wall socket.
    • Press down the On/Off switch to start boiling. The switch will illuminate.
    • The kettle automatically switches off when water boils, and the On/Off switch moves upwards, turning off its indicator.
    • To manually stop heating, push the On/Off switch upwards.
    • After boiling, disconnect the plug and remove the water tank from the base, holding it by the handle.
    • Do not open the lid while hot water is inside to avoid splashing.
    • Allow the kettle to cool down between heating processes if repeating the boiling procedure.
  • Water Filter: The kettle is equipped with a water filter that removes limestone and other residues when pouring.
  • Water Quality: Using softened or filtered water is recommended to prevent lime build-up.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning and Care:
    • Always turn off the appliance and disconnect it from the wall socket before cleaning.
    • Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
    • Clean the exterior with a damp soft cloth and a mild cleanser.
    • Do not use petrol solvents, abrasive cleaners, metal objects, or hard brushes.
    • Never immerse the appliance, base, or power cord in water or any other liquid.
    • Water Filter Cleaning:
      • Press the release downwards to remove the filter.
      • Clean the filter with water and a little lemon juice or white vinegar, using a soft brush if needed, depending on lime build-up.
      • Insert the filter back until it clicks into place.
    • After cleaning, dry all parts carefully with a soft towel before connecting to the mains supply.
  • Descaling:
    • Descaling extends the life of the kettle; frequency depends on water hardness.
    • Fill the heater to the maximum level with water and boil it.
    • Unplug the appliance after it switches off.
    • Add 2 cups of white vinegar or 1 tablespoon of citric acid to the boiled water.
    • Let the solution sit in the heater for a few hours.
    • Pour out the solution and thoroughly rinse the inner part of the heater.
    • Fill the heater with clean water and boil it again.
    • Empty the heater and rinse with water once more.
  • Storage:
    • Ensure the appliance is unplugged, cooled, and completely dry before storing.
    • Store in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children.
    • Wind the power cord around the cable coil on the bottom of the base.
  • Handling and Transportation:
    • Carry the appliance in its original packaging to protect against physical damage.
    • Avoid placing heavy loads on the appliance or its packaging.
    • Dropping the appliance can cause permanent damage or render it non-operational.
