Overview

The Beretta BREVA IN is an indoor unit for ceiling installation, designed for use in residential and light commercial premises in conjunction with an outdoor unit. This modern product aims to provide maximum comfort, reliability, efficiency, quality, and safety.

Function Description

The BREVA IN unit operates as part of a heat pump system. Its primary function is to circulate treated air throughout a room, providing either cooling or heating as required. The unit features a multiple-speed DC fan motor, which contributes to improved performance and enhanced sound comfort. Control, regulation, and programming of the unit are managed via an infra-red remote control, with detailed functions and usage instructions provided in the user manual.

      • Medium: 1000 (9000), 1050 (12000), 900 (18000), 950 (24000)
      • Minimum: 850 (9000), 900 (12000), 750 (18000), 800 (24000)
      • Super minimum: 650 (9000/12000), 610 (18000), 700 (24000)
  • Sound Levels (dB(A)):
    • Cooling Sound Pressure: Ranging from 20 dB(A) (Superminimum, 9000) to 44 dB(A) (Maximum, 18000) and 47 dB(A) (Maximum, 24000). Maximum sound power is 53-60 dB(A) across models.
    • Heating Sound Pressure: Similar ranges to cooling, from 20 dB(A) (Superminimum, 9000) to 44 dB(A) (Maximum, 18000) and 47 dB(A) (Maximum, 24000). Maximum sound power is 53-60 dB(A) across models.
  • Refrigerant: The unit uses R32 refrigerant gas, which is slightly inflammable and odourless. Installation requires careful handling to avoid damaging the gas circuit and fin bank. The total amount of refrigerant in the installed system must be indicated according to EU Regulation no. 517/2014.
  • Dimensions and Weight:
    • Packaging (h x L x P): Ranging from 355x909x279 mm (9000/12000) to 418x1206x342 mm (24000).
    • Product (h x L x P): Ranging from 280x820x195 mm (9000/12000) to 335x1125x240 mm (24000).
    • Weight: Ranging from 8.40 kg (9000/12000) to 14 kg (24000).
  • Refrigerant Connections:
    • Liquid Line: 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) for all models.
    • Gas Line: 3/8 inch (9.52 mm) for 9000/12000 models, and 1/2 inch (12.70 mm) for 18000/24000 models.
  • Condensate Drain Connection: 16 mm for all models.

Usage Features

  • Installation: The unit is designed for indoor wall installation, requiring a minimum floor area depending on the total refrigerant charge of the system. It is supplied with a metallic support for wall fixing. Proper ventilation of the installation site is crucial due to the R32 refrigerant. Recommended distances must be maintained to ensure proper airflow and facilitate maintenance.
  • Safety Devices: The device incorporates a heat exchanger temperature sensor and a room air temperature sensor to monitor and regulate operation. Safety device replacement must be carried out by Beretta Technical Support Service using original components.
  • Remote Control: An infra-red remote control allows for comprehensive control, setting, and programming. It is powered by two 1.5V AAA batteries.
  • Unit Display: The unit's display shows the active functioning mode, temperature, and any alarm codes (e.g., E1 for room probe fault, E2 for exchanger probe fault, E4 for microprocessor malfunction, E7 for communication error, E14 for fan motor malfunction).
  • Purifying Filters: The unit is supplied with air purifying filters (antibacterial and photocatalytic) to absorb microscopic dust particles, pollen, moulds, and polluting agents. These filters reduce airflow and performance, so using the device at higher speeds is advised when they are installed.
  • Emergency Operation: In conditions where the room temperature is below 16°C (preventing normal cooling mode startup), an emergency switch can be used to initiate cooling with high ventilation speed and active air deflector. This is not for usual operation.
  • Temporary Shutdown: For brief absences, the unit can be disabled using the remote control.
  • Extended Shutdown: For long periods of inactivity, it is recommended to run the device in ventilation mode at maximum speed for 6 hours before deactivating it via the remote control and system's main switch.

Maintenance Features

  • Routine Maintenance: Essential for maintaining efficiency, safety, and reliability. This should be performed periodically by qualified Technical Support Service personnel using genuine spare parts. All maintenance operations must be carried out on a cold device, disconnected from electric power, and with appropriate personal protection equipment.
  • Monthly Operations: Include cleaning the housing, front panel, and mesh filters. The housing and front panel can be cleaned with a wet sponge or soft cloth with water and soap.
  • Mesh Filter Cleaning: Mesh filters can be removed, cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, or washed with lukewarm water (max. 40°C) and neutral detergent. Filters should be rinsed well and dried in the shade. Exposure to direct sunlight or hot water (above 40°C) can cause filters to shrink. The device must not be operated without mesh filters.
  • Purifying Filter Replacement: Exhausted purifying filters should be removed and new ones inserted into the prearranged slots. Filters should remain sealed until actual use.
  • Yearly Operations: Include checking power supply voltage, tightening electrical connections, inspecting cooling and hydraulic joints, cleaning the condensate tray, and checking electric absorption.
  • Extraordinary Maintenance (Removal): For replacement or major repairs, the unit may need to be removed. This involves deactivating the unit, disconnecting cooling pipes, condensate discharge, and electrical connections, then releasing the unit from its metallic support.
  • Alarms: The unit features a self-diagnostic system that identifies operating abnormalities and blocks the unit for safety. Faults are indicated by specific codes on the unit display and by LED flashing on the outdoor unit. After a fault, it is recommended to wait at least 10 minutes before restarting the unit. Persistent faults require intervention from Beretta Technical Support Service.
