CHAPTER 5 – STORAGE
DANGER
When draining the engine fuel,
use a pan to collect it and avoid
spilling out.
o Before covering the machine
with a sheet, make sure that the
engine and the mufer are suf-
ciently cold.
WARNING
Store the machine on a at and
stable surface. If it’s put away on
a downhill surface, use blocking
bars so that the machine cannot
move.
CAUTION
Switch off the engine before per-
forming maintenance. Make sure
that hot components have cooled
off sufciently.
Remove any inammable object
away from the working area befo-
re performing maintenance.
1. Carry out daily maintenance eve-
ry time you use the machine
o Within the same day of use,
wash the machine and dry it. Then
lubricate rotating and sliding parts
with oil.
• Clean the air lter properly.
Check the starting rope and remo-
ve grass or dirt stuck in the protec-
tion grids.
CAUTION
Pay attention when washing the
machine that water does not go
inside the air lter plug as this
could ruin it.
Make sure that water does not
get into contact with the machi-
ne’s electrical components as
these could get ruined.
2. Preparing to store away for a long
period of time
1. Put the machine in a dry and well-
ventilated place and make sure that
the transport box is lowered.
2. Smear rustproof oil, engine oil
or grease to those external parts
subject to corrosion.
3. For storing operations concerning
the engine, refer to the engines Use
and Maintenance” handbook.
