Overview

This document outlines the user and maintenance instructions for the Bianchi Oltre, Oltre Pro, and Oltre RC bicycle models, focusing on key components such as the Air Deflectors, integrated handlebar, thru-axles, seatpost clamp expander block, and internal battery assembly.

Air Deflectors Oltre Pro and Oltre RC

Function Description: The Air Deflectors system is a technological feature applied to the head tube of the Oltre Pro and Oltre RC frames (excluding the standard Oltre frame). These deflectors are positioned on both the right and left sides of the head tube.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Secured by two M3x10 mm screws.

Usage Features:

  • UCI Compliance: The Air Deflectors system is NOT approved by the UCI (International Cycling Union) for professional use.
  • Removal for UCI Events: For participation in UCI-regulated competitive cycling races or events, the Air Deflectors must be removed.
  • Removal Procedure: Unscrew the four M3x10 mm fixing screws using a Torx T10 screwdriver. The frame is supplied with rubber caps to close the threaded holes after removal.
  • Screw Usage: It is critical to use only the supplied screws. Using different screws, especially those longer than 10 mm, can block the steering fork tube's rotation, leading to serious falls and accidents. The manufacturer disclaims responsibility for consequences arising from the use of non-supplied screws.
  • User Responsibility: The customer assumes full responsibility for any consequences, including disqualification, if they participate in a UCI-regulated event without removing the Air Deflectors.

Oltre Pro, Oltre RC Integrated Handlebar

Function Description: This integrated handlebar is a specific component designed for the Bianchi Oltre RC and Oltre PRO frames (excluding the standard Oltre frame). It integrates the stem and handlebar into a single unit, optimized for aerodynamics and performance.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Stem Fixing: The handlebar stem is fixed to the fork using two screws of different lengths and a tapered nut.
    • Upper screw: 5x30 mm
    • Lower screw: 5x34 mm
  • Screw Insertion Order: It is crucial to respect the specified order of screw insertion and to insert the nut correctly (not upside down).

Usage Features:

  • Specialized Installation: Any assembly, maintenance, or disassembly work on the handlebar must ONLY be carried out by a specialist dealer. Users are explicitly warned NEVER to perform these tasks themselves due to the specific technical knowledge, special tools, and precise skills required.
  • Handlebar Height Adjustment: Adjusting the handlebar height requires experience, suitable tools, and manual dexterity. This task should also be performed by a specialist dealer.
  • Cable Routing: Cables enter the handlebar near the levers and exit under the stem, passing through the spacers and the headset into the frame.
  • Computer Mount: The handlebar comes with a computer mount, including an insert/attachment for cycle computers and an adapter/base for Garmin and Wahoo.
    • Installation: Insert the support into the front and center of the handlebar, then insert the link and lock into the rear and center. Secure with the two supplied screws until stable.
    • Pre-use Check: Verify correct installation of the computer mount before use.
  • Steering Check: Before riding, turn the handlebars left and right. Do not use the bicycle if any abnormal steering behavior (e.g., play or uneven resistance) or cracks are observed.

Maintenance Features:

  • Impact Damage: In the event of an accidental fall or crash, the handlebar is likely to be subjected to heavy strain and impact. The presence of deep scratches and cracks indicates that the parts must be replaced.
  • Immediate Discontinuation of Use: If the handlebar is damaged, the use of the Bianchi Oltre Pro and Oltre RC bicycle must be stopped immediately. The bicycle should only be used again after a specialist dealer has thoroughly inspected it and, if necessary, replaced the damaged handlebar.

Oltre, Oltre Pro, Oltre RC Thru-Axle

Function Description: Thru-axles are used to secure the wheels to the frame and fork, providing a more rigid and secure connection compared to traditional quick-release skewers.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Thread Type: Screwed directly onto the dropouts of the frame and fork via an M12 thread.
  • Length: The thru-axles have a specific length to ensure safe wheel assembly, as the female threads in the frame and fork are of a blind type.

Usage Features:

  • Torque Specifications: Adhere strictly to the specified tightening torques on the thru-axles. Never exceed the maximum indicated tightening torque. Incorrect tightening can damage the frame and fork.
  • Supplied Axles Only: It is crucial to use only the thru-axles supplied with the product. Using different axles can lead to incorrect wheel assembly and compromise the integrity of the frame and fork, potentially causing frame and/or fork breakage.
  • Wheel Installation: Incorrectly fitted wheels can cause falls and serious accidents. If in doubt, consult a specialist dealer.

Maintenance Features:

  • Liability: Failure to comply with warnings and instructions exempts the manufacturer from liability.

Oltre, Oltre Pro, Oltre RC Seatpost Clamp Expander Block

Function Description: This specific component is essential for locking the seatpost in the desired position within the Oltre, Oltre Pro, and Oltre RC frames. Without it, the seatpost cannot be secured.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Clamp Screw: M5 seat clamp screw.
  • Recommended Tightening Torque: 6 Nm.
  • Screw for Clamp/Expander Block: M5x35 mm screw.
  • Hexagonal Insert: A 4 mm hexagonal insert, 100 mm long, is recommended for tightening the screw.

Usage Features:

  • Saddle Height Adjustment: To adjust the saddle height, loosen the M5 seat clamp screw. Access to the screw is through a slot on the underside of the horizontal tube where it intersects with the seat tube.
  • Seatpost Removal/Adjustment: DO NOT REMOVE, MOVE, OR ADJUST the seatpost without first loosening the clamping bolt of the expander. NEVER PULL the seatpost upwards if the expander is not completely loosened, as this can break the frame.
  • Sliding Test: Perform a sliding test of the seatpost only downwards (by a few millimeters) to verify the effective separation between the two components.
  • Screw Usage: Use only the specified M5x35 mm screw for the clamp/expander block.
    • A screw longer than 35 mm can break the horizontal tube of the frame.
    • A shorter screw can compromise the seal of the clamp/expander block, leading to sudden seatpost lowering and potential falls.
  • Torque Specifications: Adhere strictly to the specified tightening torque on the clamp/expander block. Incorrect tightening can lead to component malfunction and falls.
  • Safety Limit: When adjusting seatpost height, do not exceed the safety limit marked on the post.
  • Service Stand Use: Exercise extreme caution when using a service stand with seatpost attachment. Fixing the product via the seatpost can exert forces on the frame; avoid excessive upward forces or pushing the frame down.

Maintenance Features:

  • Liability: Failure to comply with warnings and instructions exempts the manufacturer from liability. Damage or breakage resulting from non-compliance with these instructions is not covered by warranty.
  • Impact Damage: In the event of an accidental fall or crash, the saddle and seatpost are likely to be involved. Deep scratches and cracks indicate that the parts need to be replaced.
  • Immediate Discontinuation of Use: If the seatpost is damaged, the use of the Bianchi Oltre, Oltre Pro, and Oltre RC bicycle must be stopped immediately. The bicycle should only be used again after a specialist dealer has thoroughly inspected it and, if necessary, replaced the damaged seatpost.
