The BD-Blue 130 Wall Fan is a direct-driven, corrosion-free wall fan designed for use in harsh livestock house environments, accounting for both climatic and electrical influences. It is available with either air-controlled or motor-controlled shutters and comes in various versions optimized for low power consumption or standard operation. For enhanced air output and reduced power consumption, the fan can be mounted with a cone.
Function Description:
The BD-Blue 130 fan is primarily used for ventilation in livestock houses. It can be integrated with a house controller for automated operation, including emergency opening features for the shutter. The fan's motor controller/frequency converter offers alarm monitoring to ensure optimal and flawless operation. Critical alarms will stop the motor and activate an alarm relay, while non-critical alarms will reduce performance. The system is designed to automatically reset if an error ceases, or if the maximum number of restarts is exceeded, requiring a mains voltage disconnect for more than 60 seconds.

- 50" Shading Kit for Wall Fan: For light reduction, reduces light from outside.
- 50" Light Trap Brown Out / Black Out: For dimming in livestock house, reduces air output by 15-35% (depending on cone and pressure difference).
- BD-Blue 130 Support Bracket Kit f/Air Shutter: Used to lift air-controlled shutter.
- LPC-2 Relay Module (81-39-4012): For alarm output or fan reversing, 1 x potential free output relay (1 A, 30 V DC/24 V AC), 1 x digital input.
Usage Features:
- Mounting: The fan can be mounted using four brackets, four angle bars, or in a wooden frame. Proper sealing with polyurethane foam and Sikaflex 111 Stick & Seal is recommended to prevent cold bridges and ensure a tight fit.
- Drainage: If parts of the fan are outside the wall, four 5 mm drain holes should be drilled in the bottom. The yellow blanking plug must be at the top.
- Cable Management: Cables should be led into the livestock house, with a minimum bending radius of 50 mm for fan cables.
- Motor Controller Placement: The LPC motor controller must not be built-in or covered and should be mounted on a solid, level surface with at least 150 mm clearance from surroundings for proper cooling and cable access. Cabling should be arranged to prevent water ingress into the controller.
- Emergency Opening: For motor-controlled shutters, a yellow blanking plug can be removed, and the yellow actuator split pressed with a screwdriver to manually open the shutter. Power must be shut off at the isolator before manual opening.
- Electrical Connection: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel according to national and international standards. A power supply isolator is required for each motor and power supply. Circuit breakers or fuses must comply with UL 489 and be rated for a maximum of 10,000 Arms (symmetrical), 480 V.
- Harmonic Distortion: LPC motor controllers and frequency converters produce non-sinusoidal current, affecting the mains supply. The electrician or user must ensure a properly sized mains supply.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: Plastic parts should be cleaned without lubricants, solvents, or corrosive/caustic agents. The fan should be cleaned regularly to ensure unobstructed airflow. Fan blades should turn during washing, but high-pressure cleaning is not recommended. After cleaning, running the fan at 100% for at least an hour helps dry any moisture.
- Motor Controller/Frequency Converter Maintenance: Cooling ribs should be kept dust-free using compressed air. Cleaning should be done with a damp cloth, avoiding high-pressure cleaners, solvents, or corrosive/caustic agents.
- Inspection: An annual inspection of blades and suspension units is recommended. Abnormal noise or vibration requires service.
- Troubleshooting: A detailed troubleshooting guide is provided for shutter and fan motor issues, including solutions for common problems like obstructed ventilation, faulty linkages, power supply issues, and abnormal noise.
- Recycling/Disposal: Products are designed for recycling and should be delivered to local collection sites/recycling stations according to local instructions.
