Overview

The Big Red Rooster Sleep Training Alarm Clock, Model # BRRC105, is designed to help children learn sleep and wake-up routines. It features a friendly rooster design and utilizes color cues (red for sleep, green for wake) in addition to traditional alarm functions. The clock includes both parent and child controls to manage its various features.

Function Description

The primary function of the BRRC105 is to provide a visual indicator for sleep and wake times. The clock's ball glows red when it's time to sleep and green when it's time to wake up. This visual cue is particularly helpful for young children who may not yet be able to tell time. In addition to the visual cues, the clock can also sound an audible buzzer alarm.

The device includes two independent alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2) that can be set for different wake-up times. Only one alarm can be active at a time, and it must be turned on each night. The clock also features a nap timer, which can be set for durations ranging from 1 minute to 12 hours. When the nap timer is active, the ball glows red, and a countdown is displayed.

The clock's LCD screen displays the current time, alarm times, nap timer countdown, and various settings such as buzzer status, brightness, and green light duration. The screen also provides visual feedback during the setting process, indicating when a setting is active or being adjusted.

  • Back Light: Pressing the "BACK LIGHT" button turns on the LCD screen backlight for 10 seconds, allowing children to check the time in the dark.
  • Buzzer & Green Light Off: This button allows children to turn off the buzzing sound or the green light. It's important to note that this button does not deactivate the alarm prior to the wake-up time; it only silences the sound or turns off the light once the alarm has triggered. Parents must use the parent compartment buttons to turn off alarms or nap timers before they trigger.

Power Source:

The clock can be powered by an AC adaptor or three AA batteries. When both are connected, the clock prioritizes power from the adaptor. If power is lost from the adaptor while batteries are installed, the clock will continue to operate on battery power.
