Do you have a question about the Bishamon LV50WE and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document is an Operation and Service Manual for the Bishamon Battery Powered Skid Lifter, covering models LV50WE, LV50NE, LV50E, LV50SSE, LV50NSSE, LV100WE, and LV100E. It provides comprehensive information on the device's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Bishamon Battery Powered Skid Lifter is designed for lifting and lowering loads on smooth floor surfaces. It operates using a battery-powered hydraulic system, allowing for the vertical movement of forks to handle various materials. The lifter is intended for industrial use, specifically for tasks requiring the elevation and transportation of stable, firmly stacked loads within its capacity and load diagram. It is crucial to operate the lifter with forks in a lowered position during travel to ensure safety and prevent accidents. The device is not waterproof and should be used in dry environments within a moderate temperature range.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual details specifications for both LV50E and LV100E series models, with variations across sub-models like LV50WE, LV50NE, LV50SSE, LV50NSSE, LV100WE, and LV100E.

Hydraulic System:

  • Oil Volume (Litter): 1.6 Litter (all models)
  • Hydraulic Oil Type: ISO VG32 abrasion resistant hydraulic fluid oil (e.g., Esso Nuto H32, Idemitsu Super Hydraulic Fluid 32).

Usage Features

The operation of the skid lifter involves several key features designed for safety and efficiency:

  • Lifting and Lowering: Forks are raised by tilting the Lifting & Lowering Lever towards the operator and lowered by pushing it forward. The speed can be adjusted by the angle of tilt or push.
  • Load Management: Operators must adhere to the load diagram, ensuring loads are within rated capacity and positioned correctly within the load center. Lifting loads only at the tip of the forks is prohibited.
  • Maneuvering: The unit should be moved carefully by holding the handle. Moving or turning with a load at a high position is prohibited, as is pushing the Lowering Lever while moving.
  • Brake System: A brake is installed on the right-side flexible wheel. To lock, step down on the lever; to release, pull up the lever with a toe. The brake must be set whenever the lift is not moving.
  • Battery Charging: The manual provides detailed instructions for charging, emphasizing the importance of checking fluid levels, using the designated charging port, and referring to the charger's manual. Safety warnings include keeping the battery away from open flames, charging in well-ventilated areas to prevent hydrogen gas accumulation, and ensuring sufficient battery fluid to avoid explosion risks.
  • Safety Precautions: The manual extensively uses "Warning!" and "Caution!" labels to highlight critical safety practices. These include not using the lifter on slopes or unstable surfaces, always traveling with forks lowered, avoiding overloading, keeping hands and feet clear of moving parts, and never going under raised forks. Only trained personnel should operate the lifter.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the safe and prolonged operation of the skid lifter:

  • Pre-Operation Checks: Before daily use, operators must perform checks including inspecting for damage (post, carriage, forks, chain), smooth wheel movement, oil leaks, proper brake function, battery fluid level, and secure battery terminals. The Lifting & Lowering Lever's smooth movement and return to neutral should also be checked.
  • Periodic Inspections:
    • Monthly: Check chains for rust, breaks, cracks, or missing links. Ensure the battery terminal cover is intact.
    • Every 6 Months: Inspect the sliding portion of rollers inside the post, grease the chain bracket portion, and grease the chain. Check battery cell density (1,270 at 20° or greater after charging).
    • Every 12 Months: Change the motor oil.
  • Hydraulic Oil Replacement: Use ISO VG32 abrasion-resistant hydraulic fluid oil. The volume is 1.6 liters.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the battery with a JIS standard battery of the same specification (55B24R for LV50 series, 95D31R for LV100 series). When replacing, remove the negative terminal first, avoid short circuits, and secure the battery with a clamp.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual includes a troubleshooting guide for common malfunctions such as the motor not running, the lifter not rising, natural lowering, or oil leaks. It provides possible causes and recommended actions (e.g., checking wiring, charging battery, replacing parts, adjusting fluid levels).
  • Chain Maintenance: Chains should be replaced every four years or if inspection reveals excessive wear, deformation, rust, or breakage.
  • Disposal: When disposing of the stacker, components (metal, non-metal, plastic, hydraulic oil) must be separated and disposed of according to local regulations.

The manual also outlines product warranty conditions, which cover malfunctions within one year of purchase under normal operating conditions, excluding consumable parts, damage from misuse, natural disasters, or unauthorized repairs. After-sales service information is provided, including how to contact the supplier for repairs and spare parts availability (8 years after manufacturing discontinuation).
