  If your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner is losing suction, there are several potential causes. First, ensure both tanks are correctly seated and fit snugly on the unit. Check that the 'lip' of the nozzle is securely hooked into the groove on the bottom of the machine. Make sure the portable spot cleaner is completely attached. Also, empty the dirty tank if it has reached the full line. Check the fluid levels in the formula and water tank and refill if empty. Finally, ensure the suction gate is closed.

  If the DirtLifter™ PowerBrush on your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner isn't turning, there are a few things to check. First, make sure the portable spot cleaner is completely attached. The brushes only rotate when the unit is reclined using the recline pedal. If your machine has a circuit breaker, turn it OFF, unplug it, and check for any foreign objects caught in the brush roll. Remove any obstruction and plug the machine back in to reset the breaker. If the belt is off or broken, turn the power OFF and unplug the unit.

  If your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner has reduced spray or no spray, start by refilling the formula & water tank if it's empty. Ensure the formula & water tank is seated completely by turning the power OFF, then removing and reseating the tank. If you're in portable spot cleaning mode, the pump may have lost prime; hold the end of the hose below the water level in the tank to prime it. Also, make sure the portable spot cleaner is attached completely by pushing down firmly to check the connection.

  If the upright cleaning mode indicator light on your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner does not illuminate, first ensure that the power is turned ON, as the light requires power to activate. Also, make sure the portable spot cleaner is completely attached by pushing down firmly to check.
