Why is there burnt food odor or smoking when using my Black & Decker Broiler?

The odor or smoke is likely due to food remnants in the crumb tray or on the oven walls. To resolve this, refer to the CARE AND CLEANING section of this Use & Care booklet and ensure all parts of the oven, baking pan, and rack are clean.
