      If your BLACK DECKER Iron isn't producing enough steam, or any steam at all, there are several potential causes. First, check that the steam setting isn't set to Dry Iron (off) or too low. Adjust the Variable Steam Selector to the appropriate steam level for your fabric. Also, ensure there's enough water in the tank, filling it to the Max level marker following the instructions in the “filling the water tank” section. Finally, if the iron hasn’t fully preheated, the Anti-Drip feature might be preventing steam. Give the iron more time to heat up.

      If discolored water is coming through the holes of your BLACK DECKER Iron and staining the fabric, it could be due to residue build-up in the soleplate cavity or holes. To resolve this, empty the water tank after each use and regularly use the Auto-Clean™ function. Avoid using descaling agents, perfumed additives, or starch, and if you do use starch, clean the soleplate afterward. Also, use only untreated tap water or a mix of half tap and half distilled water. Finally, allow more time between bursts of steam to prevent overuse of the Burst of Steam button and allow the iron to fully preheat while the steam selector is in the Dry Iron position.
