CLEANING
Ensure that your headlamp is clean and dry before
and after each use and before storage.
◆ DO NOT store the lamp wet.
◆ DO NOT heat.
◆ Clean the elastic strap with a mild soap and
water.
◆ Use a damp cloth to clean the lamp. DO
NOT submerge. Air dry.
BATTERY POWER INDICATOR
The Battery Power Indicator (BPI) light indicates
how much battery life remains for the mode
in use.
Green Light: > 50% battery life
Yellow Light: 20–50% battery life
Red Light: < 20% battery life
The BPI, when charging the NRG rechargeable
battery, will also indicate charging status.
Red Light: < 30% charged
Yellow Light: < 85% charged
Green Light: 85–100% charged
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the Icon does not work:
◆ Check that the batteries are oriented
correctly and touching the contacts.
◆ Replace the batteries.
◆ Charge NRG Battery system.
◆ Check the contacts and connections for
corrosion and clean if necessary.
◆ Work the switch several times.

Dealer or the Black Diamond Warranty
Department at the phone number provided.

WARNINGS
◆ A responsible adult must supervise use by
children under the age of 12.
◆ To reduce the risk of strangulation, do not
place the headlamp straps around your
neck.
◆ Always inspect your headlamp for proper
operation prior to using and, for critical
situations, carry a second light and
sufficient spare batteries.
◆ Do not stare directly into the beam or shine
it directly into others’ eyes. Intense light
can damage your eyes or the eyes of those
around you.

the consequences, whether direct, indirect, or
accidental, or for any other type of damage arising
or resulting from the use of its products. You are
responsible for your actions and activities and for
any consequences that may result from them.
LIMITED WARRANTY
We warrant for three years from purchase date
and only to the original retail buyer (Buyer) that
our products (Products) are free from defects in
material and workmanship. If Buyer discovers a
covered defect, Buyer should deliver the Product
to us at the address provided. We will replace
such Product free of charge. That is the extent of
our liability under this Warranty and, upon the
expiration of the applicable warranty period, all
such liability shall terminate.
Warranty Exclusions
We do not warrant Products against normal
wear and tear, unauthorized modifications or
alterations, improper use, improper maintenance,
accident, misuse, negligence, damage, or if the
Product is used for a purpose for which it was
not designed. This Warranty gives you specific
legal rights, and you may also have other rights,
which vary from state to state. Except as expressly
stated in this Warranty, we shall not be liable
for direct, indirect, incidental, or other types
of damages arising out of, or resulting from
the use of the Product. This Warranty is in lieu
of all other warranties, expressed or implied,
including, but not limited to, implied warranties
of merchantability or fitness for a particular
purpose (some states do not allow the exclusion
or limitation of incidental or consequential

PILES
La durée de vie de vos piles varie en fonction des
facteurs suivants :
◆ Marque et état de fraîcheur des piles.
◆ Temps de récupération c’est-à-dire temps
durant lequel la lampe reste éteinte.
◆ Température.
◆ Modes d’éclairage utilisés.
Les piles doivent être mises en place comme
indiqué sur le schéma figurant à l’intérieur du
boîtier des piles.
◆ Utiliser des piles alcalines AA ou le kit
Black Diamond NRG qui inclut une pile
rechargeable NiMH.
◆ Ne pas mélanger piles neuves et piles
usagées ni différents types de piles.
◆ Jeter les piles usagées dans un conteneur
approprié.
◆ Ôter les piles pendant les périodes de
stockage et de transport.

BATTERIEN
Die Lebensdauer Ihrer Batterie hängt von
folgenden Faktoren ab:
◆ Hersteller und Alter der Batterie
◆ „Recovery“-Zeit: Phasen, in denen die
Lampe nicht benutzt wurde
◆ Temperatur
◆ Verwendete Leistungsstufe
Richten Sie sich beim Einlegen der Batterien nach
der Anzeige an der Seite des Batteriefachs.
◆ Verwenden Sie AA-Alkalibatterien oder das
Black Diamond NRG Battery Kit, das einen
wieder aufladbaren NiMH-Akku enthält.
◆ Verwenden Sie nicht alte mit neuen
Batterien oder Batterien unterschiedlicher
Hersteller.
◆ Werfen Sie verbrauchte Batterien nicht
in den Restmüll, sondern entsorgen
Sie diese entsprechend der geltenden
Bestimmungen.
◆ Entfernen Sie die Batterien während der
Lagerung und des Transports.
BETRIEBSMODUS UND EINSTELLUNGEN
Die Stirnlampe Icon hat sieben
Lichteinstellungen: drei Helligkeitseinstellungen,
einen Blinkmodus für die SuperBright LEDs sowie
die Einstellungen „Hoch“, „Mittel“ und „Niedrig“
für die 3 Watt LED.
Um die Stirnlampe Icon einzuschalten, drücken
Sie den Schalter unten am Gehäuse (Abb. 1), und
lassen diesen dann wieder los („Klick“-Geräusch).
Dadurch aktivieren Sie entweder die drei
SuperBright LEDs oder die 3 Watt HyperBright
LED auf der höchsten Helligkeitsstufe („Hoch“).
Wenn Sie den Schalter zweimal vollständig
durchdrücken, aktivieren Sie den jeweils anderen
Modus. Indem Sie danach den Schalter zur Hälfte
durchdrücken, wechseln Sie in dem jeweiligen
Modus die Helligkeitsstufe.
Halb durchdrücken = mittlere Einstellung
Halb durchdrücken = „Economy“-Einstellung
Halb durchdrücken = Blinkmodus (nur SuperBright
LEDs)
Halb durchdrücken = Zurück zur hellsten
Einstellung
Sie können Ihre Stirnlampe jederzeit wieder
ausschalten, indem Sie den Schalter vollständig
durchdrücken und wieder loslassen („Klick“-
Geräusch).
Modusspeicher: Ihre Icon Stirnlampe speichert
die letzte Einstellung vor dem Ausschalten.
Wenn Sie nach dem Abschalten der Lampe fünf
Sekunden warten, stellt sie sich automatisch
wieder in denselben Modus bei hellster
Lichtstärke zurück.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass Ihre Stirnlampe vor und
nach Gebrauch sowie vor der Aufbewahrung
sauber und trocken ist.

To turn on the Icon, depress and release (click)
the switch (Figure 1), located on the bottom of
the housing. Either the three SuperBright LEDs or
the three-watt HyperBright LED will activate at the
brightest (high) setting. Two full depressions will
access the other mode: To access the brightness
settings in either mode, depress the switch
halfway in sequence.
Half depression = Middle setting
Half depression = Economy setting
Half depression = Strobe
(SuperBright LEDs only)
Half depression = Return to
brightest setting
A full depression “click” and
release of the switch will turn the headlamp off
at any time.
Mode Memory: The Icon will remember the last
setting you used. If you wait five seconds after
turning off the lamp, the lamp will turn back on at
the same mode setting at full brightness.

BATTERIES
Your battery life will vary depending upon these
factors:
◆ Brand and freshness of batteries.
◆ “Recovery time” or time when lamp has not
been on.
◆ Temperature.
◆ Lamp settings used.
The batteries are oriented according to the
diagram shown on the inside of the battery box.
◆ Use AA alkaline batteries or the Black
Diamond NRG Battery Kit which includes a
rechargeable NiMH unit.
◆ Do not mix old and new batteries or
batteries of different types.
◆ Dispose of the used batteries properly.
◆ Remove the batteries during storage and
transport.
MODES AND SETTINGS
The Icon has seven light-output settings—three
brightness settings and strobe illumination
on SuperBright LEDs and High, Mid and Low
settings on the three-watt LED.
MODES ET RÉGLAGES
La frontale Icon offre sept possibilités de réglage
d’intensité lumineuse : trois niveaux d’intensité et
un mode clignotant sur les LEDs SuperBright et
des réglages « Phare », « Code » et « Veilleuse »
sur la LED trois watts.
Pour allumer votre Icon, appuyer puis relâcher
(cliquer sur) l’interrupteur (Figure 1) situé
sur le dessous du boîtier. Soit les trois LEDs
SuperBright soit la LED HyperBright trois watts
seront activées à leur plus fort niveau d’intensité.
Deux pressions marquées permettent d’accéder à
l’autre mode - pour accéder aux différents niveaux
de chaque mode, appuyer à mi-course selon la
séquence suivante :
Pression à mi-course = intensité moyenne
Pression à mi-course = intensité économique
Pression à mi-course = mode clignotant (LEDs
SuperBright uniquement)
Pression à mi-course = Retour au niveau d’intensité
le plus fort
Une pression marquée (clic) suivie d’un
relâchement de l’interrupteur permet d’éteindre la
frontale à tout moment.
Mode Mémoire : La frontale Icon mémorise le
dernier réglage utilisé. Si vous attendez cinq
secondes après l’extinction de la lampe, il permet
de rallumer la frontale en utilisant le même mode
réglé sur pleine intensité.

NETTOYAGE
Assurez-vous que votre frontale est propre et
sèche avant et après chaque période d’utilisation
et de stockage.
◆ NE PAS stocker une lampe encore humide.
◆ NE PAS chauffer.
◆ Nettoyer le bandeau élastique avec un
savon doux et de l’eau.
◆ Utiliser un chiffon humide pour nettoyer la
lampe. NE PAS submerger. Laisser sécher à
l’air libre.
INDICATEUR DU NIVEAU DES PILES
L’Indicateur du Niveau des Piles (INP) est un
témoin lumineux qui indique quelle est la durée
de vie restante des piles pour le mode utilisé.
Lumière verte : > 50 % de durée de vie
Lumière jaune : 20-50 % de durée de vie
Lumière rouge : < 20 % de durée de vie
L’Indicateur du Niveau des Piles, lorsque la
pile du système rechargeable NRG est en
charge, permet également de connaître l’état du
chargement.
Lumière rouge : < 30 % chargé
Lumière jaune : < 85 % chargé
Lumière verte : 85-100 % chargé
DYSFONCTIONNEMENT
Si votre Icon ne fonctionne pas :
◆ Vérifiez si les piles sont correctement
orientées et si elles touchent les contacts.
◆ Remplacez les piles.
◆ Chargez le système de pile NRG.
◆ Repérez toute trace de corrosion sur les
contacts et les connexions et nettoyez si
besoin.
◆ Testez l’interrupteur à plusieurs reprises.

PIÈCES DE RECHANGE
Certaines pièces de cette lampe frontale sont

La lampe frontale Icon de Black Diamond répond
aux exigences de la Directive CEM (compatibilité
électromagnétique) 89/336/CEE.
AVERTISSEMENTS
◆ L’utilisation du présent produit par
des enfants de moins de 12 ans doit
s’effectuer sous la surveillance d’un adulte

◆ Pour réduire les risques de strangulation,
ne pas placer les bandes élastiques de la
frontale autour de votre cou.

une seconde ampoule ainsi qu’un nombre
suffisant de piles de rechange afin de
pouvoir faire face aux imprévus.
◆ Ne pas fixer directement le faisceau
lumineux ni le braquer directement dans
les yeux d’autres personnes. L’intensité
lumineuse peut abîmer vos yeux ou les yeux
des personnes qui vous entourent.

autre type de dommage découlant ou résultant

Nous garantissons pour une durée de trois ans à
partir de la date d’achat et seulement à l’Acheteur
d’origine (Acheteur) que nos produits (Produits)
sont exempts de défauts de matériau et de
fabrication. Dans le cas où l’Acheteur découvrirait
un vice caché, l’Acheteur devra nous renvoyer

Produit sera échangé gratuitement. L’étendue

◆ Lagern Sie Ihre Lampe NICHT im feuchten
Zustand.
◆ NICHT erhitzen.
◆ Reinigen Sie das elastische Stirnband mit
milder Seife und Wasser.
◆ Verwenden Sie ein feuchtes Tuch, um
die Lampe zu reinigen. NICHT unter
Wasser tauchen. Lassen Sie die Lampe
lufttrocknen.
BATTERIESTANDSANZEIGE
Die Batteriestandsanzeige zeigt an, wieviel
Kapazität die Batterie bei der gegenwärtigen
Einstellung noch hat.
Grünes Licht: > 50 % Batteriekapazität
Gelbes Licht: 20-50 % Batteriekapazität
Rotes Licht: < 20 % Batteriekapazität
Die Batteriestandsanzeige zeigt außerdem beim
Aufladen des Akkus den Ladestatus an.
Rotes Licht: < 30 % aufgeladen
Gelbes Licht: < 85 % aufgeladen
Grünes Licht: 85-100 % aufgeladen
FEHLERBEHEBUNG
Wenn Ihre Icon nicht funktioniert:
◆ Prüfen Sie, ob die Batterien richtig herum
eingelegt und mit den Kontakten verbunden
sind.
◆ Ersetzen Sie die Batterien.
◆ Laden Sie den Akku auf.
◆ Prüfen Sie die Kontakte auf Korrosion und
säubern Sie diese gegebenenfalls.
◆ Betätigen Sie mehrmals den Schalter.
Die Lampe funktioniert immer noch nicht?
Wenden Sie sich bitte unter der angegebenen
