10. Playback from external devices and media: Apple® devices
IPod®/iPhone® support
The car radio is equipped with two USB ports:
• Find the USB port behind the flip cover on the front of the car radio (see
CAR RADIO CONTROLS)
• USB port on the rear of the car radio (see section INSTALLATION |
REMOVAL | CONNECTIONS)
Due to licensing regulations, only newer Apple® devices with a
Lightning or USB-C connector (iAP2 protocol) are supported, the car radio
is not compatible with older devices that use a 30-pin connector and are
based on the iAP1 protocol.
Connecting an iPod®/iPhone®/Starting playback
When using the front USB port: Open the flip cover by pulling lightly from
the bottom by the protruding bottom edge.
Carefully insert the USB plug into the USB socket, do not use force or tilt
the USB plug.
The radio will automatically switch to iPod®/iPhone® mode.
Playback starts with the last file played on the iPod/iPhone or with media
playback from the last application used.
If an iPod® /iPhone® has already been connected previously, switch to the
IPOD source using the SRC button. Data will be loaded, playback will
start from the last file played.
The function of the TA button can be adjusted to directly select an
audio source such as USB, IPOD or BT-STREAM, see section SETTINGS |
MENU
IPod® /iPhone playback
The track can be changed by briefly pressing one of the buttons on the
multifunction switch.
Additional functions:
Pause:
You can pause playback by muting the car sound system (see section
CAR RADIO CONTROLS).
Track playback function (SCAN):
All tracks can be played.
To do this, press and hold the SRC source selection button for more than
one second until the display shows SCAN. The display will show SCAN
message and the current track.
SCAN continues until the function is cancelled by pressing any button.
The following functions can be used with the memory buttons:
• Button 2 (repeat function):
Possible options: RPT TRACK, RPT DIR or RPT OFF . The corresponding
playback mode is indicated during the switchover and shown by symbols
on the display.
• Button 3 (random playback):
Possible options: MIX ALL or MIX OFF. The corresponding playback
mode is indicated during the switchover and shown by symbols on the
display.
