Overview

This document serves as the user's manual for the Outdoor Refrigerator, model number BLZ-SSRF-40DH. It provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of the appliance, emphasizing safety precautions and troubleshooting guidelines.

Function Description:

The BLZ-SSRF-40DH is an outdoor refrigerator designed to store drinks and other items, maintaining a cool temperature. It features a single temperature control for regulating the internal compartment temperature. The unit is intended for use in well-ventilated areas, protected from direct elements, with ambient temperatures between 40°F (5°C) and 105°F (40°C). It is crucial to position, level, and install the refrigerator correctly before use to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Power Cord: Grounded 3-prong plug; a separate circuit is recommended.
  • Fuse/Circuit Breaker Size: 15 amps

Usage Features:

  • Temperature Control: The unit has one temperature control located on the upper right side of the compartment. The control ranges from "OFF" to "5", where "1" is warmer and "5" is cooler. The recommended initial setting is "5", with adjustments made after 24-48 hours to suit user needs. A setting of "3" is generally appropriate for home or office use. Turning the control to "OFF" stops the cooling cycle but does not cut off power to the unit.
  • Installation: The refrigerator must be placed on a strong, level floor. Leveling legs at the bottom of the unit allow for adjustment. It should be located away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent increased electrical consumption and potential damage to the acrylic coating. Proper ventilation is essential, with a minimum clearance of 8" at the back and 4" on the left, right, and top.
  • Electrical Connection: Requires a standard 115V AC, 60 Hz, properly grounded 3-prong outlet. Do not use adapters or extension cords. If power is interrupted or the unit is turned off, a 3-5 minute delay is necessary before restarting to prevent malfunction.
  • Food Storage: It is recommended to allow hot items to cool to room temperature before placing them in the unit to avoid overworking the compressor. Wiping containers dry before storage helps reduce frost buildup. Overloading the unit should be avoided. Organizing items efficiently and minimizing door openings can improve energy efficiency.
  • Packing List: The unit comes with 1 Refrigerator, 3 Wire Racks, 1 Shelf, 1 Big Block Bar, 2 Small Block Bars, 1 User's Manual, and 1 Energy Star Certification.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Before cleaning, turn the temperature control to "OFF" and unplug the unit. Remove all drinks, shelves, and trays. The interior surfaces should be washed with a warm water and baking soda solution (2 tablespoons of baking soda to a quart of water). Shelves and trays can be cleaned with a mild detergent solution. The exterior should be cleaned with mild detergent and warm water, then rinsed and wiped dry with a soft cloth. Avoid using solvent-based cleaning agents or abrasives on the interior, as these can cause damage or discoloration.
  • Defrosting: In case of ice buildup, turn off and unplug the unit, then allow the ice to melt with the door open. Do not use boiling water or sharp/metallic instruments to remove frost, as this can damage plastic parts and the cooling system, voiding the warranty.
  • Power Failure: Most short power failures (a few hours) will not significantly affect the unit's temperature if the door openings are minimized. For longer power outages, take steps to protect stored items.
  • Vacation Time: For short vacations (less than three weeks), leave the unit operating. For long vacations (several months), remove all drinks, unplug the power cord, clean and dry the interior thoroughly, and leave the door slightly ajar to prevent odor and mold growth.
  • Moving the Unit: Before moving, remove all drinks, securely tape down loose items inside, turn up the leveling legs to prevent damage, and tape the door shut. Ensure the unit remains upright during transportation and protect its exterior with a blanket or similar item.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the unit not operating, frequent cycling, vibrations, excessive noise, and the door not closing properly, along with possible causes and solutions.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a 1-year limited warranty covering defects in workmanship and material under normal residential use. This warranty does not cover units used in rental or commercial applications, nor does it cover labor or shipping/handling charges for warranty parts. The warranty is voided by negligent use, misuse, use contrary to instructions, or alterations by unauthorized personnel. Warranty claims require contacting the Customer Service Center.
