Why is the charge current lower than expected on my Blue Sky Energy SOLAR BOOST 50?
    • J
      Joshua AllenAug 17, 2025
A lower than expected charge current in your Blue Sky Energy Inverter, along with low PV current, can be due to several reasons. The battery might be highly charged, reducing the current during Acceptance or Float stages. Worn out PV modules or low insolation (atmospheric haze, dirty PVs, low sun) can also cause this. Ensure PV- and BAT- are separate. Verify dip switch #5, proper MPPT setup, and MPPT trim.

What to do if Blue Sky Energy SOLAR BOOST 50 Inverter display is OK but system won't turn on?
    • H
      Heather CrawfordAug 19, 2025
If the display is OK but your Blue Sky Energy Inverter system won't turn on and the charge status LED is off, check your PV connections. Ensure they're properly connected and not in reverse polarity, and that PV- isn't connected to BAT-. The PV needs to supply at least 0.15A at 2.5V more than the battery voltage to start charging. Reverse polarity PV will heat the heat sink and show negative PV current if the battery is connected. PV- and BAT- must be separate for proper operation.

Why is the MPPT current boost less than expected on my Blue Sky Energy Inverter?
    • J
      James MillsAug 22, 2025
If the MPPT current boost is less than expected on your Blue Sky Energy Inverter, it could be because the PV maximum power voltage (VMP) isn't much higher than the battery voltage. Hot PVs or improper MPPT setup can also be factors. PVs with a VMP ? 17V work best. Check for excessive PV wiring voltage drop, and verify dip switch #5 along with proper MPPT setup and trim. The MPPT LED being off indicates that extra power isn't available from the PV array.

Why is the charge status LED on in Bulk but no output charge current on my Blue Sky Energy SOLAR BOOST 50?
    • A
      Angela GibsonAug 26, 2025
If the charge status LED is on in Bulk, but there's no output charge current from your Blue Sky Energy Inverter, double-check dip switches #1-5 for the correct system voltage. Also, ensure the temperature sensor is connected with the correct polarity or replace the sensor. Proper temp sensor terminal voltage when connected is 2.98V at 25°C, changing at +10mV/°C.

Why won't my Blue Sky Energy Inverter switch between Acceptance & Float correctly?
    • L
      Lance AcevedoAug 27, 2025
If your Blue Sky Energy Inverter system seems OK but isn't correctly switching between Acceptance & Float, double-check dip switches #10 & 11. The battery might be too discharged, PV power might be too low, or loads might be too high to reach the desired charge voltage. The system won't switch from Float to Acceptance until the charge current is greater than the Float Transition Current setting. If using an external shunt, verify the charge current polarity.

Why is the charge status LED on in Float or Accept. but no output charge current on my Blue Sky Energy SOLAR BOOST 50 Inverter?
    • A
      Amber ThomasAug 30, 2025
If the charge status LED is on in Float or Accept. but there's no output charge current from your Blue Sky Energy Inverter, it's likely normal operation due to a high battery voltage, possibly from other charging systems. Double-check dip switches #1-5. If temp compensation is enabled without a sensor or the sensor failed, disable temp compensation or replace the sensor. Ensure the battery voltage is at least 9V in a 12V system or 18V in a 24V system.

Why is the charge status LED on in Bulk with no output and relays clicking on my Blue Sky Energy Inverter?
    • S
      Susan WilliamsSep 2, 2025
If the charge status LED is on in Bulk, but there's no output charge current and the relays click on and off on your Blue Sky Energy Inverter, double-check dip switches #1 & 2 for the correct system voltage. Also, verify that PV- and BAT- are not connected together via earth GND or any other connection.

What does it mean when the charge status LED blinks rapidly on my Blue Sky Energy SOLAR BOOST 50 Inverter?
    • A
      Amy LeeSep 4, 2025
If the charge status LED blinks rapidly and the charge voltage may be high on your Blue Sky Energy Inverter, the system is likely in equalize mode. To disable equalize, press the equalize pushbutton.

    Jacqueline BeasleySep 7, 2025
Why does my Blue Sky Energy SOLAR BOOST 50 Inverter charge turn off at high temperatures?
    • T
      Thomas MirandaSep 7, 2025
If your Blue Sky Energy Inverter's charge turns off at high ambient temperatures, it's likely shutting down temporarily due to a high heat sink temperature. Improve ventilation or reduce PV power to prevent this. Ensuring sufficient ventilation can enhance reliability.

Why are the relays clicking on/off when the charge status LED is on in Float or Accept. on my Blue Sky Energy Inverter?
    • S
      stephanie34Sep 10, 2025
If the charge status LED is on in Float or Accept., and the relays click on and off on your Blue Sky Energy Inverter, the charge current might be very low, and the system is on the edge of being able to stay on. If the charge current is very low (?0.1 – 0.2A) because the battery voltage is at the setpoint, the relays may switch on/off. This is normal and won't cause any harm. The symptom will disappear with a slight increase or decrease in battery load.
