5. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. The lter pump is self-priming as long as it is positioned at least 7 to 8 inches below the highest
water level of the lower hose connection. An air relief valve is located on the top of the pump. Turn
the valve knob counter-clockwise, allowing air to escape from the tank. When a small amount of
water escapes, close the knob immediately. The pump is now completely primed.
2. Prior to each use, check to ensure that all hose-clamps are tightened.
3. The lter pump must operate in an upright, vertical position.
4. The lter pump must be positioned on a level, stable ground.
5. To keep the pool ltered properly, your pump should run approximately 4 to 6 hours per day.
Overuse may cause overheating and/or motor burnout. Use good judgment on extremely hot days.
6. DO NOT run the lter pump continuously for an extended period of time.
6. CLEANING & REPLACING FILTER CARTRIDGE
1. Disconnect the lter from the power source.
2. Insert the wall plugs (14) into the water intake (12) and return ttings (13).
3. Open the lid of the lter tank (7) by turning the cover locking ring (3) counter clockwise.
4. Remove the tank cover (4).
5. Remove and inspect the lter cartridge (6). Clean if not too dirty, or replace if cleaning is not
effective.
6. Place the cleaned or new lter cartridge into the lter tank.
7. Inspect the tank cover and the tank cover O-ring (5). Clean and lubricate them if necessary.
8. Replace the tank cover O-ring and tank cover.
9. Re-secure the tank cover with the cover locking ring by turning it clockwise. Do not over tighten.
10. Remove the wall plugs, reconnect the lter to power source, and resume ltering the pool.
7. GENERAL MAINTENANCE
1. To avoid dangerous or fatal electrical shock, always disconnect the power to the unit before
attempting to clean the pump or lter canister.
2. The pump is sealed and requires NO mechanical maintenance or lubrication. Do not attempt to
disassemble the pump motor at any time. Doing so will void your warranty.
3. If necessary, clean the outside of the pump only with a mild detergent and water.
