Unit Assembly

Wear items exempt from warranty consideration include but may

not be limited to: power cords, transport wheels, castors, handle

grips, ﬁlters, screens, brushes and carbon brushes. Subject to the

conditions and exceptions stated in this warranty, BlueDri® warrants

the BlueDri® products to be free from defects in material and

workmanship, under normal use and service, for the periods listed under

the warranty policy to the original purchaser. At any time during the

warranty period, BlueDri® will furnish replacement parts for the

BlueDri® products to the original purchaser. Such parts will be

furnished and charged including transportation costs, to the original

owner. If the original part is returned within the warranty policy period

from date of delivery for inspection by BlueDri® and is found to be

defective, the owner will be credited for the cost of replacement parts

plus shipping and handling. Replacement parts that have become

defective through wear or abuse are not included in this warranty. This

warranty does not apply to damage or defect caused by accident, misuse,

negligence, ﬁre or to any BlueDri® product which has been serviced or

repaired by other than an authorized BlueDri® Service Distributor or

BlueDri® factory personnel. This warranty is void if products are used

for any purpose other than that which was intended. There are no other

warranties expressed or implied. In no event shall BlueDri® be liable for

incidental or consequential damages or any damage to person or

property. (Please note some states do not allow the exclusion or

limitations for incidental and consequential damages.)

Warranty Policy

1-Year Coverage

Subject to the conditions stated below, BlueDri® oﬀers a limited

warranty on parts and labor on the following equipment, parts and

accessories to be free from defects in material and workmanship

for a period of one year to the original purchaser.

5-Year Coverage

Subject to the conditions stated below, BlueDri® warrants parts

and labor on rotationally molded housings to be free from defects

in materials and workmanship for a period of ﬁve years to the

original purchaser.

The BlueDri® Air Shield 550 HEPA Air Scrubber is a portable filtration system designed to remove airborne particles, including mold, pet dander, dust, pollen, drywall dust, and other miscellaneous debris as small as 0.3 microns. This device is intended to create cleaner air in various environments.

Function Description:

The AS-550 utilizes a multi-stage filtration process, typically involving up to three stages. The first stage is a pre-filter (G4), which captures larger particles. An optional second stage can be used for additional filtration. The final stage is a HEPA filter (H13, made in Germany), which captures smaller particles and ensures high-efficiency air purification. The unit is designed for continuous operation until the area is clear of unwanted contaminants or until the filters need changing. A filter change indicator light on the control panel illuminates when the HEPA filter requires replacement.

Usage Features:

Operation: To operate, the Air Scrubber should be placed upright on a level and stable surface with the handle up. After removing the dust cover, it is plugged into a grounded 115-volt outlet. For maximum electrical shock protection, it is crucial to use a circuit protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). The variable speed switch on the control panel allows users to adjust the desired speed setting by turning it clockwise.
Daisy-Chain Capability: The AS-550 supports interconnecting up to three units (daisy-chaining) to customize air filtration needs. This feature allows for increased coverage or more intensive filtration in larger areas.
Safety Features:
- GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter): The unit is equipped with a GFCI that trips if it detects a sudden "ground fault" or overload, interrupting the electric current. Users are advised to unplug the unit and check for potential hazards (e.g., standing water, frayed cords) if the GFCI trips. A "reset" button is located between the two outlets on the GFCI.
- Circuit Breaker Switch: Located directly above the GFCI outlet, this switch protects the unit by cutting off power if it detects an unsafe amount of electricity. If the switch "trips," users should unplug the unit, check for overloads, and then reset the breaker by pushing the button.
Portability: The design includes an hour meter (AS-08) to track usage and rubber feet (AS-09) for stability.

Stacking: For safety, no more than two units should be stacked high to avoid a tipping hazard and potential bodily harm.

Maintenance Features:

Filter Replacement: Filters should be changed after every remediation job and whenever the filter change indicator light illuminates. The unit should also be cleaned after each job to prevent cross-contamination. Users must ensure the unit is dry before installing clean filters. To change filters, the Air Scrubber must be unplugged. The door is opened by releasing sliding latches, used filters are removed, and new filters are installed. The door is then latched closed, and the unit can be plugged back into a grounded outlet.
Safety Precautions for Maintenance: Always wear NIOSH compliant protective gear when changing filters and dispose of used filters according to local regulations, as they may contain contaminated materials. The Air Scrubber must be unplugged before performing any service or changing filters. Only qualified personnel should disassemble or repair the unit.
Warranty: BlueDri® offers a 1-year limited warranty on parts and labor for equipment, parts, and accessories, covering defects in material and workmanship. A 5-year warranty is provided for rotationally molded housings, covering defects in materials and workmanship. Wear items such as power cords, transport wheels, castors, handle grips, filters, screens, brushes, and carbon brushes are exempt from warranty consideration. The warranty is void if products are used for purposes other than intended, serviced by unauthorized personnel, or damaged due to accident, misuse, negligence, or fire.
