Why does my Bluegrass Living Gas Heater smell like gas?
    • L
      lindseyholmesAug 20, 2025
A gas odor during combustion may be due to foreign matter between the control valve and burner. In this case, you should take apart the gas tubing and remove any foreign matter. Alternatively, it could be due to a gas leak, so locate and correct all leaks.

What to do if my Bluegrass Living Gas Heater pilot lights but flame goes out?
    • M
      Mike VanceAug 22, 2025
If the ODS/pilot lights but the flame goes out when you release the control knob, it could be due to several reasons: 1. The control knob is not fully pressed in, so ensure you press it fully. 2. The control knob is not pressed in long enough; after the ODS/pilot lights, keep the control knob pressed in for 30 seconds. 3. The equipment shutoff valve is not fully open, so fully open the equipment shutoff valve. 4. The thermocouple connection is loose at the control valve, so hand tighten it until snug, and then tighten 1/4 turn more. 5. The pilot flame is not touching the thermocouple, which allows the thermocouple to cool, causing the pilot flame to go out. 6. The thermocouple is damaged, so replace the thermocouple. 7. The control valve is damaged, so replace the control valve.

      Jeremy NixonAug 25, 2025

What to do if my Bluegrass Living Gas Heater burner does not light?
    • M
      Marie HardingAug 26, 2025
If the burner(s) does not light after the ODS/pilot is lit, it could be because the burner orifice is clogged, so clean the burner orifice. Alternatively, the inlet gas pressure may be too low, in which case you should contact your local gas supplier.

Why is there no spark in my Bluegrass Living Gas Heater?
    • J
      Julia LeeAug 28, 2025
If there is no spark at the ODS/pilot when the ignitor button is pressed, it could be due to several reasons: 1. The ignitor electrode is positioned wrong or broken, so replace the pilot assembly. 2. The ignitor electrode is not connected to the ignitor cable, so replace the ignitor cable. 3. The ignitor cable is pinched or wet, so free the ignitor cable if it is pinched and keep it dry. 4. The ignitor cable is broken, so replace the ignitor cable. 5. The piezo ignitor is bad, so replace the piezo ignitor.

What to do if Bluegrass Living Gas Heater produces yellow flame?
    • H
      holdenchelseaAug 30, 2025
A high yellow flame during burner combustion could be due to not enough air. Check the burner for dirt and debris and clean it if necessary. It may also be caused by a defective gas regulator, which would need to be replaced. Finally, it could be due to inlet gas pressure being too low, so contact your local gas supplier.

What to do if Bluegrass Living Gas Heater produces unwanted odors?
    • N
      Nicole BrownSep 1, 2025
If your heater produces unwanted odors, it could be due to several reasons: 1. The heater is burning vapors from paint, hair spray, glues, etc., so ventilate the room and stop using odor-causing products while the heater is running. 2. There is a gas leak, so locate and correct all leaks. 3. There is a low fuel supply (propane/LP gas only), so refill the supply tank (Propane/LP models).

Why does my Bluegrass Living Gas Heater shut off?
    • P
      Patrick FlemingSep 3, 2025
If your heater shuts off during use and the ODS operates, it could be due to: 1. Not enough fresh air being available, so open a window and/or door for ventilation. 2. Low line pressure, so contact your local gas supplier. 3. The ODS/pilot being partially clogged, so clean the ODS/pilot.

What to do if my Bluegrass Living Gas Heater has delayed ignition?
    • D
      David LeeSep 5, 2025
If you're experiencing delayed ignition of the burner(s), it could be due to low manifold pressure, so contact your local gas supplier. It may also be caused by a clogged burner orifice, so clean the burner.

What to do if Bluegrass Living Gas Heater burner backfires?
    • S
      Shawn WaltersSep 7, 2025
If the burner is backfiring during combustion, it could be because the burner orifice is clogged or damaged, so clean the burner orifice. It may also be due to a damaged burner, in which case you should contact customer service. Finally, a damaged gas regulator could be the cause, so replace the gas regulator.
