recoverycylindersare
employed.Ensurethatthe
correctnumberofcylinders
forholdingthetotalsystem

cylinderstobeusedare
designatedfortherecovered
refrigerantandlabelledfor
thatrefrigerant(i.e.special
cylindersfortherecoveryof
refrigerant).Cylindersshallbe
completewithpressurerelief
valveandassociatedshut-off
valvesingoodworkingorder.
Emptyrecoverycylindersare
evacuatedand,ifpossible,
cooledbeforerecovery
occurs.
• Therecoveryequipmentshall
beingoodworkingorder
withasetofinstructions
concerningtheequipment
thatisathandandshallbe
suitablefortherecoveryof
ammablerefrigerants.In
addition,asetofcalibrated
weighingscalesshallbe
availableandingood
workingorder.Hosesshall
becompletewithleak-free
disconnectcouplingsand
ingoodcondition.Before
usingtherecoverymachine,
checkthatitisinsatisfactory
workingorder,hasbeen
properlymaintainedandthat
anyassociatedelectrical
componentsaresealedto
preventignitionintheeventof
arefrigerantrelease.Consult
manufacturerifindoubt.
• Therecoveredrefrigerant
shallbereturnedtothe
refrigerantsupplierinthe
correctrecoverycylinder,and
therelevantWasteTransfer
Notearranged.Donotmix
refrigerantsinrecovery
unitsandespeciallynotin
cylinders.Ifcompressors
orcompressoroilsareto
beremoved,ensurethat
theyhavebeenevacuated
toanacceptablelevelto
makecertainthatammable
refrigerantdoesnotremain
withinthelubricant.The
evacuationprocessshall
becarriedoutpriorto
returningthecompressorto
thesuppliers.Onlyelectric
heatingtothecompressor
bodyshallbeemployedto
acceleratethisprocess.
Whenoilisdrainedfroma
system,itshallbecarriedout
safely.
