Tire tread
Safety information
Warning
If the tire tread depth is too low, driving safety
may be impaired in critical situations such as
aquaplaning or slush on the road. There is
a risk of accident. The tire tread depth may
not fall below 0.12 in/3 mm for summer tires
and 0.16 in/4 mm for winter and all-season
tires, or observe the statutory regulations on
minimum tread depth.
Minimum tread depth
The tire manufacturer’s wear indicators are
distributed over the tire circumference. These
indicators have a height of min. 0.06 in/1.6 mm
and serve as an indicator for tire tread wear.
The positions of the wear indicators are
marked on the tire sidewall with TWI, Tread
Wear Indicator.
