Malfunction
The function of the emergency call may be im-
paired.
The LED near the SOS button flashes for ap-
proximately 30 seconds. A Check Control mes-
sage is displayed.
Have the vehicle checked by an authorized
service center or another qualified service cen-
ter or repair shop.
What to do after an accident
General information
After an accident, comply with the following
safety precautions with regard to the high-volt-
age system:
▷ Engage the selector lever position P, ap-
ply the parking brake and turn off the drive-
ready state and standby.
▷ Secure the crash site.
▷ Lock the vehicle after exiting.
▷ Immediately notify rescue forces, police, or
firefighters of the fact that the vehicle is
equipped with a high-voltage system.
▷ Do not inhale any gases escaping from the
high-voltage battery; if needed, maintain a
safe distance from the vehicle.

DANGER
Contact with live components can lead to
an electric shock. There is a risk of injury
or danger to life. After an accident, do not
touch any high-voltage components such as
orange colored high-voltage cables or parts
that are in contact with exposed high-voltage
cables.
Warning
Fluids in the high-voltage battery are corro-
sive. There is a risk of injury. Do not touch
fluids escaping from the high-voltage battery.
Jump-starting
General information
If the battery is discharged, the engine can
be started using the battery of another vehicle
and two jumper cables. Only use jumper ca-
bles with fully insulated clamp handles.

ger to life. Do not touch any components that
are under voltage.

If the jumper cables are connected in the
incorrect order, spark formation may occur.

In the case of body contact between the two
vehicles, a short circuit can occur while jump-
starting. There is a risk of injury or risk of
damage to property. Make sure that no body
contact occurs.
