PUSHRODS
Removal
Remove the rocker shaft bolts evenly and lift off the rocker arm shaft assembly.
Remove the push rods and keep them n the correct order.
Installation
Put oil on both ends of the pushrods and install them in the correct bores.
Put
oil
on
the valve stem and the rocker arm pads, and install the rocker arm shaft assembly on the cylinder head. Put the
pushrods on the adjustment screws. Tighten the bolts to
25-30
ft.
-Ibs.
(34-41 Nm) torque.
Make adjustment of the valve lifters according to the speCifications.
INTAKE MANIFOLD
Removal
Remove the coolant from the cooling system.
Disconnect the throttle linkage from the throttle lever on the carburetor.
Disconnect the
fuel line from the carburetor.
Disconnect the water hose from the intake manifold.
Remove the intake manifold.
Installation
Put a water resistance sealer on both sides of the new gasket and around the water port. Install it on the cylinder head.
Install the intake manifold and tighten the nuts and bolts evenly 15-18 ft.
-Ibs.
(20-24
Nm) torque.
Connect the water hose to the intake manifold.
Connect the
fuel line to the carburetor.
Connect the throttle linkage.
Install the dipstick tube bracket to the intake manifold and install the fastening bolt.
Fill the cooling system with the correct coolant.
If a new manifold is to be installed put all the needed parts on the new manifold.
