Assembly (Cont'd)
Install the piston rings on the piston in the following
sequence:
Install the three piece oil ring [A].
Install the No.2 ring [B].
Install the No. 1 ring [B].
Insta"ation
NOTE:
Make sure the piston ring gaps are
positioned as illustrated [C].
Put oil around the piston and piston rings.
Using a ring compressor
tool, compress the rings on the
piston.
Make sure the
mark is toward the front of the engine
block.
Install
the piston and connecting rod assembly [0].
