Removing And Replacing Hydraulic Charge Filter (Cont’d)

Stop the engine and raise the operator cab. (See Raising
on Page 147.)

Remove the nut (Item 3) holding the operator cab
electrical harness clamp and move the harness toward
the front of the loader. Remove the bolts (Item 1) and
remove the lower fan duct (Item 2) [Figure 255].

Put a suitable container below the filter housing and
remove the filter housing (Item 1) [Figure 256].

Remove the filter (Item 1) [Figure 257] and discard.
Clean the surface of the filter housing and the filter base
where they contact the filter seal.
Put clean oil on the seal of the new filter. Install the filter
on the filter base [Figure 257].
Install and tighten the filter housing to 65 – 70 N•m (48 –
52 ft-lb) torque [Figure 256].
Recycle or dispose of used fluid in an environmentally
safe manner.
AVOID INJURY OR DEATH
Always clean up spilled fuel or oil. Keep heat, flames,
sparks or lighted tobacco away from fuel and oil.
Failure to use care around combustibles can cause
explosion or fire.

Install the lower fan duct, bolts, electrical harness clamp,
and nut [Figure 255].
NOTE: Failure to install the lower fan duct correctly
may result in decreased cooling.
