Questions and Answers

Overview

The BodyMed ZZABP01 is a digital blood pressure monitor designed for both medical professionals and home users to measure and display diastolic/systolic blood pressure and pulse rate. It utilizes the oscillometric method for measurement and is intended for use on adults only. The expected lifespan of the product is approximately 5 years.

Important Safety Precautions:

  • Consult a doctor to determine the appropriate time for blood pressure measurement, especially if taking medication. Never change prescribed medication without consulting a doctor.
  • Be aware that individuals with irregular or unstable peripheral circulation (due to diabetes, liver disease, or hardening of the arteries) may experience fluctuations in blood pressure values between the upper arm and wrist.
  • Measurements may be affected by strong electrical fields from devices like televisions, microwave ovens, X-rays, and mobile phones. Use the monitor at a sufficient distance or turn off such devices to prevent interference.
  • Wash hands before use.
  • Do not measure blood pressure on the same arm as any other monitoring device to avoid loss of function.
  • Consult a doctor for unexpected readings or refer to the "Troubleshooting" section of the manual.
  • At-home readings may be lower than average due to the familiar environment compared to hospital recordings.
  • The cuff pressure range is 0 mmHg-299 mmHg.
  • Do not use the device if there is a kink in the connection tubing or external defects that could cause injury.
  • Do not take blood pressure measurements more than 3 times continuously in a row. Rest at least 5 minutes between measurements to prevent extravasated blood.
  • Do not measure blood pressure more than 6 times a day.
  • Do not apply the cuff over a wound.
  • If a user has had a mastectomy, measure on the opposite arm.
  • Observe the air pressure value on the LCD screen.
  • If the arm cuff exceeds 299 mmHg during measurement, immediately press the "on/off" button to stop.
  • Do not force-bend the arm cuff or air tube.
  • Only use specified accessories. Unauthorized parts may cause faults or injuries.
  • Do not submerge the device or its components in water.
  • Avoid extreme hot or cold temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Store the device and components in a clean, safe location.
  • Do not subject the monitor to strong shocks.
  • Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for three months or longer. Replace all batteries with new ones when resuming use.
  • Patient must follow doctor's instructions and should not self-diagnose or self-treat based on measured results.
  • Self-diagnosis and subsequent treatment based on measured results are dangerous. The device should not be used for judging illness, first aid, or continuous monitoring.
  • This device is for household or fixed places only, not for patient transport or surgical care.
  • If the arm becomes uncomfortable during measurement or if the air inflates abnormally without stopping, press the "on/off" button.
  • Do not allow children under 12 or individuals unable to express their intention to use the device. For individuals 12-18 years old, adult supervision is required.
  • Do not use the unit for purposes other than measuring blood pressure.
  • Avoid using mobile phones or other devices around magnetic fields near the monitor.
  • The device is prohibited for use during movement, outdoors, or in rooms with showers.
  • Do not disassemble, repair, or remodel the main unit or arm cuff.

  • Attaching the Arm Cuff: Wrap the cuff around the upper arm, 2-3 cm above the elbow, directly on the skin. Avoid rolling up shirt sleeves that may constrict the arm. Secure with the Velcro strip. Position the arm on a table with the palm upwards, ensuring the cuff is at heart level and the tube is not kinked.
  • Taking Measurements:
    • Patient should be seated comfortably with legs uncrossed, feet flat on the floor, and back and arm supported.
    • The middle of the cuff should be at heart level.
    • Remain still and quiet during measurement.
    • Relax and avoid talking.
    • Measure at the same time each day.
    • Avoid measuring right after physical exercise or a bath; rest for 20-30 minutes beforehand.
    • Readings can be affected by factors such as eating, drinking wine/coffee/red tea, physical activity, bathing, talking excessively, anxious behavior, moving around, bending forward, drastic room temperature changes, or prolonged continuous movement.
    • Press the "ON/OFF" button; all icons will appear, then "0" (or the last recorded measurement) will display.
    • The cuff will automatically inflate, and the heart mark (♥) will flash. Measurement results will display upon completion.
  • Memory Function:
    • Read Memory: Press "MEM" to view average values (latest 3 groups) or individual measurements. Use "MEM" for UP and "SET" for DOWN.
    • Delete Memory: Press and hold "MEM" for five seconds until "no" displays on the LCD.

  • Store the monitor in its storage case when not in use.
  • Do not fold the arm cuff too tightly.
  • Keep the fabric fastener away from the inner surface of the arm cuff to prevent damage.
  • Clean the monitor and cuff with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive or volatile cleaners on the monitor or accessories.

Electromagnetic Compatibility:

The ZZABP01 is designed for use in an electromagnetic environment where radiated RF disturbances are controlled. It is suitable for all establishments, including domestic ones. Users should maintain minimum separation distances from portable and mobile RF communications equipment as specified in the manual to prevent interference. The device uses RF energy only for internal function, resulting in very low RF emissions.
