Overview

The Boncare Rapid-Heat Heating Pad with Digital Control is designed to provide soothing heat therapy for pain relief. This device is available in models MH6100F-A and MH6101F-A.

Function Description

The heating pad utilizes RAPID-Heat technology, which allows it to generate heat within 30 seconds of activation, offering quick relief. It is intended for external use to apply heat to specific body parts. The device operates on a 110-120 volt AC circuit.

Usage Features

To use the heating pad, first ensure the control connector is securely attached to the pad connector. Both parts should be pushed together for a tight fit. It is crucial that the control is connected to the heating pad before plugging the unit into an electrical outlet. Once connected, plug the unit into a 120V AC electrical outlet. The LCD display will briefly light up and then go out.

To turn on the pad, press the power button. The LCD display will illuminate, showing the default temperature setting, which is the lowest (104°F), and the default timer setting of 1 hour.

Temperature settings can be adjusted by pressing the "TEMP" button. Each press of the button will increase the temperature setting incrementally. The available temperature figures are 104°F, 113°F, 122°F, 131°F, 140°F, and 149°F. The pad begins heating immediately upon releasing the button. Once the selected temperature is reached, the pad maintains a stable heat. Users can switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit display by pressing and holding the "TEMP" button for 2 to 3 seconds.

The heating pad also features an auto-off function, which can be set using the "TIMER" button. The default auto-off time is 1 hour. There are six available timer settings: 1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 45 minutes. Upon releasing the "TIMER" button, the countdown timer starts automatically, decrementing by the minute. The pad will automatically shut off when the timer reaches the selected setting, and the LCD display will go out. In the event of a power outage, the auto-off feature automatically resets to the default 1-hour timer.

For optimal use, the pad should be placed on top of the body part requiring heat, not underneath it. It is important not to bunch, sit on, or crush the pad, and to avoid sharp folds. The controller should never be placed under the pad during use. Additionally, the controller must match the corresponding model of the heating pad; a controller for a standard-sized pad should not be used with a large-sized pad, and vice versa.

The heating pad can also be used for moist heat therapy, which some users may find more comfortable and effective for pain relief. To apply moist heat, lightly dampen either side of the heating pad with water. This can be done by patting the surface with a wet sponge or cloth, or by using a spray bottle to apply a fine mist. It is crucial not to thoroughly soak the pad. Importantly, the pad connector should never be sprayed or dampened, and the pad or its wiring should not be immersed in water or placed under running water, as this could lead to product failure or personal injury. Before establishing an electrical connection, the electrical pad connector must be thoroughly dry.

Maintenance Features

The Boncare heating pad is designed for easy maintenance. It is important to note that the pad should not be dry cleaned, bleached, or put through a wringer.

To clean the pad, first disconnect it from the outlet and detach the pad connector from the control connector. The pad can be washed by hand or in an automatic washer. If using an automatic washer, set it to slow agitation and normal spin speed. Fill the washer with warm water and add a minimum amount of all-purpose detergent, agitating to dissolve it. Place the heating pad in the washer and let it soak for five minutes, then agitate for two minutes. After agitation, spin the pad. Refill the washer for a cool rinse, agitate for one minute, and then spin again.

For drying, the pad can be placed in an automatic dryer on high heat for five minutes only. Alternatively, it can be line dried. After removing the damp heating pad from the dryer, reshape it and hang it to finish air drying completely. It is important not to iron the heating pad.

Before plugging the pad and pad connector back in, ensure they are completely dry to prevent any electrical hazards.

The device features a polarized plug, with one blade wider than the other, designed to fit into a polarized outlet in only one way to reduce the risk of electric shock. If the plug does not fit fully, it should be reversed. If it still does not fit, a qualified electrician should be contacted to install the proper outlet. Users should not attempt to modify the plug or defeat this safety feature.

For storage, the cord should be looped loosely. Tight wrapping can damage the cord and internal parts. When not in use, the heating pad should be stored in its original packaging, in a dark, cool, and dry place.

There are no user-serviceable parts within the heating pad. If the pad does not function satisfactorily, users should refer to the warranty for consumer service information.
