Inserting the lter
1. To insert the selected lter in the porta-lter, make sure to
align the notch on the lter with the groove inside the porta-
lter.
2. Turn the lter to the left or right to lock in place. This will help
secure the lter in the porta-lter.
NOTE: To remove and clean the lter, turn lter to the left or right
to align the lter notch with the groove inside the porta-lter.
WARNING: Make sure the lter has cooled before attempting to remove the lter.
Filling with ground coee
Place the selected lter on porta-lter as follows:
1. Fill the lter with fresh, ne ground espresso coee (do not overll).
Note: the ground coee amount shouldn’t exceed the MAX mark
2. Tamp and compress rmly and evenly ground coee.
3. Clean any excess coee from the rim to ensure proper t under brew head.

Place the porta-lter
1. Position porta-lter underneath the brew head, attach porta-lter by rst moving
retainer clip back.
2. Position handle so that the handle lines up with the open lock icon “ ” on the unit and
ts into the groove.
3. Then, slowly turn it to the right until the retention clip is aligned with the closed lock
symbol “ ” on the unit.
Placing the cup(s)
1. Pull out the height adjustment tray if you are using a small “demitasse” cup to brew
espresso.
2. Keep the height adjustment tray inside its compartment if you are using a larger cup to
brew cappuccino.
