Overview

This document describes the BOSALY IM2100DT-UL Ice Maker, providing important safeguards, operational instructions, and maintenance guidelines.

Function Description

The BOSALY IM2100DT-UL is an ice maker designed to produce ice cubes. It operates by pumping water into an ice tray situated below an evaporator, where ice forms. Once formed, the ice tray tilts, draining remaining water back into the reservoir, and the ice cubes are dropped into an ice basket by an ice shovel. The unit automatically restarts the ice-making cycle. It features indicators for "ICE FULL" (when the ice basket is full) and "ADD WATER" (when the water reservoir is low), automatically pausing operation in these conditions. Users can select between small ("S") and large ("L") ice sizes. A "CLEAN" function is also available for maintenance.

  • Ambient Temperature Range for Operation: 10°C to 32°C.

Usage Features

  • Initial Setup:
    • Unpack and check for all accessories (ice basket, ice scoop).
    • Install the handle by pulling its sides outwards, aligning with housing holes, releasing, and then pulling it upright to ensure it's securely positioned.
    • Place the ice maker on a level, stable surface, ensuring it's not inclined more than 45° during transportation or use.
    • Allow 2 hours for fluids in the compressor to settle before first use, especially if moved or transported.
    • Ensure a 6-inch (15cm) clearance on all sides for proper ventilation.
    • Do not fill with hot water; use room temperature or colder water.
    • Do not operate in environments below 5°C.
  • Operation:
    • Ensure the drain plug is closed.
    • Plug into a grounded wall outlet; the "ICE" indicator will blink. If moved, allow 30 minutes rest before plugging in.
    • Open the top lid, remove the ice basket, and fill the water reservoir with drinking water up to the "MAX" level mark.
    • Replace the ice basket and close the lid.
    • Press the "ON/OFF" key; the "ICE" indicator will light solidly.
    • Use the "SELECT" key to choose ice size (small "S" or large "L").
    • When "ICE FULL" lights up, remove ice with the scoop. The unit will restart automatically after about 7.5 seconds.
    • When "ADD WATER" lights up, the unit stops. Remove the ice basket, add water, and press "ON/OFF" to restart. If forgotten, it will restart automatically after about 20 minutes.
    • To stop, press "ON/OFF" and unplug. Transfer ice to a freezer.
    • Allow the ice maker to reach room temperature before storing.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Verify voltage matches appliance nameplate.
    • Use an exclusive grounded power outlet.
    • Avoid extension cords if possible; if necessary, use a grounded cord with a rating equal to or greater than the appliance, positioned to avoid tripping hazards or being pulled by children.
    • Do not operate with damaged cord or plug, or if the appliance malfunctions or is damaged.
    • Do not let the cord hang over edges or contact hot surfaces.
    • Do not place near hot gas/electric burners or in a heated oven.
    • Do not touch the evaporator to avoid frostbite.
    • Do not immerse any part in water.
    • Unplug before cleaning, maintenance, or when not in use.
    • Do not plug/unplug with wet hands.
    • Do not use with microbiologically unsafe or unknown quality water.
    • Do not clean with flammable fluids.
    • Do not overturn; if accidentally overturned, let it stand steadily for 2 hours before powering on.
    • If brought in from outside in winter, allow several hours to warm to room temperature before operating.
    • Never put flammable, explosive, or corrosive articles in the ice maker.
    • Do not use with flammable gas leakage.
    • Do not store or use flammable articles near the ice maker.
    • Unplug before moving to avoid damaging the refrigerating system.
    • Do not disassemble, repair, modify, or replace any part.
    • Not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience/knowledge, unless supervised.
    • Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
    • Do not leave unattended while in use.
    • Do not use outdoors or for other than intended use.
    • Dispose of according to local regulations for flammable blowing gas and refrigerant.

Maintenance Features

  • Regular Cleaning (Recommended Weekly):
    • Stop ice-making, unplug, and allow to warm to room temperature.
    • If residual water is in the ice tray, gently push it back to drain into the reservoir.
    • Move the appliance 60mm from the working table.
    • Open the drain plug to drain excess water (refer to Fig.4, Fig.5, Fig.6 in the manual).
    • Close the drain plug. Fill the reservoir with clean water.
    • Press "SELECT" until "CLEAN" indicator flashes, then press "ON/OFF". The pump will run for 6 minutes, then enter standby.
    • Open the drain plug and empty the water.
    • Remove the ice basket.
    • Clean the interior with a soft cloth soaked in warm water and vinegar, then rinse with clean water and drain all water.
    • Replace the drain plug.

  • Important Cleaning Notes:
    • Do not use organic solvent, boiled water, detergent, strong acid, or strong alkali for cleaning.
    • Do not clean the evaporator.
  • Water Replacement: Suggest replacing water weekly.
  • Storage: If not used for a long time, empty the water reservoir and dry it before storage.

Troubleshooting Guide

  • "ADD WATER" indicator turns on:
    • Low water level/lack of water: Refill water, press "ON/OFF" to restart.
    • Water screen blocked/pump malfunction: Clean the appliance or send for repair.
  • "ICE FULL" indicator lights up:
    • Ice basket full/infrared light blocked: Remove ice, wipe foreign objects from infrared light-emitting/receiving diodes, restart.
    • Infrared light-emitting/receiving diodes not working: Call customer service.
  • Ice collects together:
    • Ice making takes too long: Stop, restart after ice melts.
    • Water temperature too low: Fill reservoir with water between 8°C and 25°C.
  • Ice-making seems normal but no ice is produced:
    • Ambient/water temperature too high: Operate in an environment less than 32°C, fill with cold water.
    • Refrigerating system leaks/blocks: Call customer service.
  • Poor ice-making result:
    • Poor heat dissipation: Ensure 6-inch clearance on all sides.
    • Water temperature too high: Fill reservoir with water between 8°C and 28°C.
    • Ambient temperature too high: Operate in an environment between 10°C and 32°C.
