Why does my Bosch ES025 turn off due to high pressure?
    • L
      Linda CaseyAug 8, 2025
Your Bosch Heat Pump might be turning off due to high pressure for several reasons. In cooling mode, this could be due to a lack of or inadequate water flow, entering water that's too warm, or a scaled or plugged condenser. In heating mode, it could be due to a lack of or inadequate airflow, an inoperative blower, or a clogged filter or restrictions in the ductwork. The unit may also be overcharged with refrigerant, in which case you should reclaim refrigerant, evacuate, and recharge with the factory-recommended charge. Also, check for a defective or improperly calibrated high-pressure switch.

What to do if the blower operates but the compressor does not in my Bosch ES025?
    • M
      Mary GoodmanAug 12, 2025
If the blower in your Bosch Heat Pump is working but the compressor isn't, start by checking the thermostat's settings, calibration, and wiring. Inspect the wiring at the compressor, capacitor, or contactor for any loose or broken wires. Check the UPM board red default L.E.D. for a Blink Code. If the compressor is cool and the overload won't reset, replace the compressor. If the compressor motor is grounded (internal winding grounded to the compressor shell), replace the compressor and install a suction filter dryer if there's a compressor burnout. Finally, after the compressor has cooled, check the continuity of the compressor windings; if they're open, replace the compressor.

Why does my Bosch ES025 Heat Pump turn off on low pressure control?
    • S
      Samantha MooreAug 17, 2025
If your Bosch Heat Pump is shutting off due to low pressure control, it could be caused by a few things. In cooling mode, it may be due to a lack of or inadequate airflow, or entering air that is too cold, or the blower is inoperative, or a clogged filter or restrictions in the ductwork. In heating mode, it could stem from a lack of or inadequate water flow, entering water that is too cold, or a scaled or plugged condenser. The unit might also be low on refrigerant, so check for leaks, repair them, evacuate the system, and recharge it with the factory-recommended charge. Lastly, inspect the low-pressure switch for defects or improper calibration.

Why does my Bosch Heat Pump keep short cycling?
    • P
      Patrick OwensAug 21, 2025
If your Bosch Heat Pump is short cycling, it could be due to several reasons. The unit might be oversized, requiring a recalculation of heating or cooling loads. The thermostat could be installed near a supply air grill; if so, relocate it and readjust the heat anticipator. Also, check the wiring and controls for a defective or improperly calibrated low-pressure switch.

What causes high water temperature in a Bosch ES025 Heat Pump?
    • S
      shearussellAug 26, 2025
High water temperature in a Bosch Heat Pump can be caused by a stuck water temperature limit switch, or a sensor that is not attached securely to the line.

How to troubleshoot a Bosch ES025 Heat Pump that is not running?
    • D
      Douglas PadillaOct 30, 2025
If your Bosch Heat Pump isn't running, there are several potential causes. First, ensure the power supply is on and the disconnect is closed. Check for blown fuses and replace them or reset the circuit breaker, ensuring you use the correct fuses. If the voltage supply is low (below the minimum specified on the unit's data plate), contact your local power company. Finally, the thermostat may be faulty. To test the thermostat, set the fan to 'ON'—the fan should run. Set the thermostat to 'COOL' with the lowest temperature, the unit should run in cooling mode. Set it to 'HEAT' with the highest temperature; the unit should run in heating mode. If the blower or compressor doesn't run in any of these cases, the thermostat could be miswired or faulty. Verify 24 volts are available on the condensi...

What to do if my Bosch ES025 Heat Pump is not providing enough cooling or heating?
    • J
      joecrawfordNov 3, 2025
If your Bosch Heat Pump isn't providing sufficient cooling or heating, several factors could be responsible. The unit might be undersized, so recalculate the heating and cooling loads, and consider adding insulation or shading to rectify the problem. Check for leaks in the ductwork or ambient air entering through doors or windows. Ensure adequate airflow and proper air distribution, and replace any dirty filters. A low refrigerant charge can cause inefficient operation. Check the compressor for defects; if the discharge is too low and the suction pressure is too high, the compressor isn't pumping properly and should be replaced. A defective reversing valve can also cause refrigerant bypass; replace the valve if needed. Compare unit operating pressures to the pressure/temperature chart. Ins...
