A) For measurements from the rear edge of the measuring tool, 100 %
reflectance of the target (e.g., a white-painted wall), weak backlight and
77° F (25 °C) operating temperature. Additionally, a deviation influence of
±0.05 mm/m must be taken into account.
B) For measurements from the rear edge of the measuring tool, 10 – 100
% reflectance of the target, strong backlight and 14° F (–10 °C) to 122° F
(+50 °C) operating temperature.
Additionally, a deviation influence of ±0.29mm/m must be taken into
account.
C) For measurements from the rear edge of the measuring tool, as the
operating range increases the better the laser light is reflected from
the surface of the target (dispersive, not reflective) and the brighter the
laser point is with respect to the ambient brightness (indoors, twilight).
For distances greater than 265-ft (80 m), we recommend using a
retroreflective target plate (accessory). For distances below 65-ft
(20 m), a retroreflective target plate should not be used, as it can lead to
measuring errors.
