7 Opening the charger
Important Risk of lethal injury!
High electrical voltages
F Troubleshooting and repair may be carried out
only by a qualified electrician.
F Before opening the unit, check that all safety and
precautionary measures have been taken.
F The unit must remain disconnected from the
supply voltage before opening and during repair.
1) Disconnect the mains plug
2) Unscrew the 6 screws on the sides of the housing
3) Detach the housing upper section
4) Disconnect the fan
The fan terminals are located on the terminal strip X10
(, terminals 7 and 8)
5) Disconnect the PE connector of the fan in the charger
8 Test steps
The test conditions must have been fulfilled
and both the preliminary test must have
been conducted with the unit closed and the
preparations for testing must have been
carried out before starting troubleshooting.
If tests can be conducted only when live, the
charger must be connected to the mains via
an isolating transformer. Take extreme care
in such cases.
After the preliminary test with the unit closed, start with
the test step determined during the preliminary test and
continue with the other test steps as specified in the
relevant test flowcharts.
8.1 Testing the mains voltage in the unit
