Test step 2:
Check output voltages at sockets
BA+ and BA—.
Disconnect charging clips from battery.
Cannect charger via isolating transformer to mains.
Set isolating transformer to 230 V.
Set values:
Set switch S1 to Continuous charging.
S2 BA+12V BA+ 24V
1 15V 30V
2 16V 32V
3 17V 34V
4 18,5V 37V
Rapid 26 V 53 V
tolerance ±5%
Are set values attained?
Yes: Continue with test step 5 (check rectifier)
No: Continue with test step 3
Test step 3:
Check charging leads and primary
voltages at transformer T1
1.Pull mains connector.
Unscrew cover and side panels. Loosen strain-relief bolts and
move leads aside.
Check continuity and tight connection af charging Ieads from
rectifier to battery clips (circuit breakers F1 and F2 activated).
lf necessary, renew charging leads/circuit breakers F1, F2.
Check ammeter (only if not functioning):
Carefully unclip retainer using small screwdriver and remove
charging lead.
Use ohmmeter to check contact continuity.
Renew defective ammeter.
When fitting, make sure that charging lead is positioned on
contacts. Bend retainer open slightly prior to attachment.
2.Check primary valtages at transformer T1:
Connect charger via variable isolating transformer (230V) to
mains.

4/5 - 6/7 139V
4/5 - 8 185V
4/5 - 9 204V
4/5 - 10 214V
4/5 - 11 230V
(tolerance ±5%):
Are set values attained?
Yes: Continue with test step 4
No: Trouble-shooting/fault eliminatian:
Check mains vobtage at connections a and b of relay.
lf there is no valtage, check continuity of thermal release
of transformer (terminals 1 and 3 of primary winding)
(mains connector pulled).
Check power cord.
Check continuity of timer S2 in switch settings.
lf there is voltage at a and b, check whether mains valtage
is being applied to terminals a and 24/14. Pull leads off
NO contacts and check whether both cantacts are closed.
lf not all voltages are measured, check switch S2 for
continuity in its switch settings.
To do so, label and pull off Ieads. Connection to terminal
a and consecutively to terminals 1...6.
Fauls elimination:
Renew pawer cord.
Renew switch S1.
Renew switch S2.
Renew relay.
Renew transformer.
Fault eliminated?
Yes: Continue with test step 1
No: Continue with test step 4
