Your
901
Series
IV
speaker
system
consists
of
three
parts:
two
speakers
(marked
“Part
and
"Part
2")
and
an
electronic
Active
Equalizer
packed
in
the
"Pan
i"
coritalner.
instaiiatiort
consists
of
three
steps:

)placirtg
your
speakers
for
best
sound,
2)
conr^ec*
ting
the
speaker
to
your
amplifying
equipment,
and
3)
connecting
the
equalizer
to
your
amplifying
equipment.
If
you
place
the
speakers
within
the
ranges
suggested
here,
the
unique
adjustments
found
on
the
901
Series
IV
equalizer
will
allow
you
to
achieve
optimum
performance.

PLACING
THE
SPEAKERS
Unlike
conventional
speakers,
ihe
901
Series
IV
functions
with
the
acoustics
of
your
lislening
room,
simulating
tne
spatial
cr)arBcteri9lic8
of
the
larger
envlronmema
associated
with
a
live
performance.
This

advantage
allows
consldarable
'fraadom
of
pfacamant
and
produces
an
unusually
large
"best
listening
area."
Outstanding
performance
can
be
obtamed
under
a
wide
variety
of
piacerr^ent
pcsiiiona.

The
following
guidelines
in
placing
the
speaker
cabinets
will
help
you
obtain
the
best
perlormance.
The
basic
idea
Is
to
pro*
vide
space
to
allow
me
sound
lo
develop
around
the
speaker
system,

on

enclosure
are
the
rear
face
of
the
901
speaker
(see
Pigure
1),

reflecting
wail
(the
wail
behind

speaker).

point

"V"
should
be

and

from

refleciing
wall.
Best
results
will
be
obtained
with
the
speakers
placed
between

from

reflecting
wall.

the
floor
or
below
the
calling

Figure

Distances
closer
to
the
ceiling
or
floor
restrict
the
reflected
sound
energy.

Large
objects
(such
as
furniture)

spaced
apart

however,
separation
as
small
as

great

will
give
excellent
results
in
most
rooms.
