If your Bose speaker system isn't playing, ensure all connections are secure and that the sound source is plugged in and playing at an audible volume. Also, verify the power is on, and the system isn't muted—the LED on the control pod should be green when unmuted. If using a PC, check your sound card settings to ensure the 'Digital output only' setting is turned off. Check your speaker wires for damage or frays, which can cause an open or short circuit.

If one of your Bose speakers isn't performing or sounds distorted, check the connections from the speakers, control pod, and computer to the Acoustimass module. Be sure the cable from the speaker that isn't working is firmly inserted in the correct jack on the module. You can also switch the connection of both speakers to the jacks on the rear of the Acoustimass module. Check balance levels on your sound source. If the problem switches to the other speaker, a defective output channel on the sound source may be the cause. Try a different source.
