If your Bose T4S/T8S Mixer is plugged in and the power switch is on, but there is no power, ensure that the AC outlet has power by testing it with a lamp or AC outlet tester. If using the T4S with an L1® Model II or 1S system, make sure the ToneMatch® cable is properly connected to both the mixer and the L1 power stand, verify the power cord plug is fully inserted into the power stand and the AC outlet, and ensure the L1 power stand is turned on with a blue power LED.

If you hear a slight hum or buzz from the L1® system with nothing plugged into the Bose T4S/T8S input connectors, plug the T4S/T8S and the L1 power stand into the same AC (mains) outlet. Use an AC outlet tester to check the AC outlet for reversed or open contacts. If using an extension cord, test the cord as well.

How to fix poor-sounding playback of a stereo recording on my Bose T4S/T8S Mixer?

      Joseph MaxwellAug 27, 2025
To improve poor-sounding playback of a stereo recording using a CD player, MP3 player, or other such device on your Bose T4S/T8S Mixer, connect the left channel of the device to Aux input 5 and the right channel to Aux input 6 (or 9/10 for T8S), as these inputs are designed for line-level signals. Disable any extended bass or EQ features on the CD or mobile device. If using recording software on a computer, check the software requirements and configure the software settings for 48 kHz/24-bit operation if necessary.

If your Bose T4S/T8S Mixer is on but producing no sound, ensure the Master volume is turned up and that the input channels you want to hear are not muted. Check the Volume control for the channel and ensure the Trim control is turned up enough for a green LED, indicating a strong signal. Also, confirm the volume on your input source is up, try a different cable, and plug the source directly into the L1 power stand or another amplifier to ensure it works. If using with an L1 Model II or 1S system, turn off the power stand, reseat the ToneMatch cable, and turn the power stand back on. If possible, test wi...

      Gregory HaynesNov 4, 2025
If you are experiencing poor sound quality from a microphone or instrument connected to your Bose T4S/T8S Mixer, first ensure that there is no unwanted zEQ or Para EQ equalization applied. Verify that you have selected an appropriate ToneMatch® mixer preset for your microphone/instrument, or set ToneMatch to Flat if you prefer not to use a preset. Make sure there are no unwanted effects (Comp/Gate, Mod, Delay, Reverb) active on your input channel by checking the Status in the Prefs menu. Adjust the T4S/T8S input Trim properly for your microphone/instrument, ensuring the signal LED is green (lower the Trim level if it's red). Try using a different microphone or instrument cable, and check that the cable plug is fully inserted into the microphone/instrument output connector and the T4S/T8S i...
