Usage Features:
The device is indicated for males with Norwood-Hamilton classifications of IIa to V patterns of hair loss and females with Ludwig-Savin Classifications of I-1 to I-4, II-1 to II-2, or frontal, both with Fitzpatrick Skin Phototypes I to IV. LLLT has only been tested on Fitzpatrick Skin Types 1 to 4 (highly sun sensitive to minimally sun sensitive, always tans to moderate brown). It has not been tested on Fitzpatrick Skin Types 5 and 6 (sun insensitive skin, rarely burns, tans well to deeply pigmented).
For optimal results, the Bosley Revitalizer should be used every other day for a maximum of 30 minutes per session. Exceeding this recommended time or frequency will not increase effectiveness unless directed by a hair restoration physician. The laser cap should not be used on consecutive days.
Installation and Charging:
To install the battery, slide down the protective cover, lift the Battery Pack protective cover, and insert batteries ensuring correct polarity (+ and - symbols match). Then, slide the protective cover to close.
Before first use, the lithium battery should be fully charged for 4-5 hours to extend its lifespan; a full charge can power up to 5 laser treatments. To charge, connect the AC adapter to the battery compartment and plug into a power outlet. The LED indicator light will flicker during charging and remain static when fully charged. The AC adapter must be disconnected from the battery compartment before use, as the device will not power on if connected to the wall charger.
Operation:
- Connect the battery pack to the Revitalizer cap: Align the arrows on the connectors.
- Place the Revitalizer cap on your head: The cap will not function unless it is placed on the head.
- Start treatment: Locate the controller pod on the cable between the cap and battery pack. Press and hold the power button for 4 seconds. The white arch on the controller pod illuminates when the cap is on, and the yellow indicator light illuminates when laser treatment is ongoing.
- Verify treatment: Look into a mirror to confirm that red laser lights are pulsating on and off, indicating the 30-minute treatment has started.
- Automatic shut-off: The cap automatically turns off at the end of the 30-minute cycle, accompanied by a beep sound.
- Pause/Resume: If the cap is removed from the head during treatment, it will automatically pause, indicated by intermittently flashing green and yellow lights. To resume, place the cap back on the head. The yellow indicator light will remain illuminated. If the cap is not replaced within 10 minutes, it will automatically turn off.
- Manual shut-off: To manually turn off the cap, press and hold the Power Button for 4 seconds.
Safety Precautions:
- Avoid looking directly at or staring at the laser beam or light source to prevent eye injury.
- Do not aim the laser beam at other people.
- Under low ambient light conditions, the device may cause dazzling, flash blindness, and an afterimage.
- Any operation not strictly in accordance with the manual may cause injuries.
- Do not immerse the device in water or use near liquids to protect against electrical shock.
- The device should not be used by children or individuals with limited physical, sensory, or mental abilities without close supervision.
- Do not alter the device, as this may result in radiation exposure.
- Contact Bosley if the power supply is damaged to avoid electrical hazards or device damage.
- Use only the supplied battery, cable, and charger/AC adapter.
- To avoid fire, electric shock, or explosion, do not disassemble, incinerate, heat, short circuit, or place the battery or charger in high-temperature environments or near heat-producing appliances, or use them for different purposes.
- Do not cover the charger while in use.
- Do not use a wet battery or charger, and do not plug or unplug with wet hands.
- Disconnect the charger when not in use.
- Turn off the power switch and unplug the charger before removing the battery.
- WARNING: Avoid wrapping the cable around the neck to prevent strangulation.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: Unplug the device and disconnect all cables before cleaning. Gently wipe the inner surface of the Revitalizer Cap with a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol.
- Storage: To extend the device's life, remove the battery if it will not be used for an extended period. Store in ambient temperature between 4°F to 131°F (-20°C to 55°C).
Troubleshooting:
- Blue battery indicator lights don't illuminate: Charge batteries for 6 hours, ensure batteries are seated correctly with correct polarity, confirm wall charger is plugged into battery pack and wall. If issues persist, contact Bosley.
- White arch on controller pod doesn't illuminate: Ensure batteries are fully charged and the battery pack is disconnected from the wall charger. Check if the cable is correctly connected to the Revitalizer cap, aligning the arrows.
- Red laser lights don't illuminate: Ensure batteries are fully charged and the battery pack is disconnected from the wall charger. Make sure the cable is correctly connected to the Revitalizer cap, aligning the arrows. Place the cap on your head and check in a mirror for pulsating red laser lights.
- Lights did not go on, reset batteries: Ensure battery pack is not connected to the wall charger. Open the battery pack, remove batteries for 1 minute, then replace them ensuring correct polarity (plus sign on battery matches plus sign inside battery pack). Close the cover and try holding down the power button again. If lights still don't go on, contact Bosley.
Warranty Policy:
The Bosley Revitalizer is protected by a limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship. If a defect occurs during the warranty period, parts will be repaired or replaced at no cost. This warranty is non-transferable and does not cover failures resulting from misuse, improper installation, unauthorized maintenance, vandalism, or acts of God.
