The BOSMA CapsuleCam-S is a security camera designed to keep you connected with your home and loved ones from anywhere in the world. Its primary function is to provide real-time monitoring and event recording, ensuring you are always aware of what's happening in your absence. When motion or sound is detected, the camera promptly sends an instant notification to your phone and records the event, allowing you to review the footage.
One of the key usage features of the CapsuleCam-S is its 1080p Video with 138° Wide Angle lens. This wide-angle view is designed to minimize blind spots in your home, offering comprehensive coverage of the monitored area. The camera's Motion & Sound Detections are highly sensitive, providing keen detection capabilities in various environments. This ensures that any significant activity or noise is captured and reported, enhancing your home's security.
For low-light conditions, the CapsuleCam-S is equipped with Infrared Night Vision. This feature allows you to see everything clearly, even in complete darkness, ensuring continuous monitoring around the clock. The camera also supports Two-way Audio Communication, enabling you to communicate with your loved ones at home anytime, anywhere. This interactive feature adds a layer of connectivity, allowing you to speak and listen through the camera.
In terms of storage, the CapsuleCam-S offers Local Storage capability, supporting a micro SD card up to 128GB (sold separately). This allows for local recording of events and continuous footage without relying solely on cloud services.
Setting up the CapsuleCam-S is a straightforward process. First, you need to download the "BOSMA" app from your device's app store and create an account. Once logged in, you can add the device by tapping the "+" button and selecting "CapsuleCam Series" from the list. The camera needs to be connected to power, and after hearing "system startup" and "waiting for connection," you can proceed with the setup. If these messages are not heard, a reset button is provided to reset the camera.
The setup continues by connecting the camera to your home's Wi-Fi network. It's important to note that the CapsuleCam-S only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. A QR code will be generated within the app, which you then place approximately 3-4 inches in front of the camera. Upon hearing "Wi-Fi is connecting," you can confirm and proceed. The app will then guide you through the pairing process, and once successful, you can customize the device's name.
The BOSMA app provides a comprehensive interface for managing your CapsuleCam-S. The main screen displays the live video feed, along with options for date and time display and changing video quality. You can also switch to full screen view for a more immersive experience. A timeline feature allows you to change timeline date and view past events, indicated by a live or playback indicator.
For interaction, the app includes a Talk button for two-way communication and a Listen button to hear audio from the camera. You can also take screen snapshots to capture specific moments. The app allows you to adjust image parameters to optimize the video feed and manually trigger an alarm siren for immediate deterrence.
The device settings menu offers further customization and control. Here, you can change the device's name, manage motion/sound detection and notification settings to tailor alerts to your preferences, and manage the recording schedule to control when the camera records. A convenient camera on/off switch allows you to disable the camera when privacy is desired. You can also adjust image orientation settings to ensure the video feed is displayed correctly.
For sharing access, the app provides options to manage device sharing, though it notes that this method is being deprecated in favor of Family Management for sharing. The settings also allow you to adjust speaker volume and manage SD card settings for local storage. You can manage the Wi-Fi network the device is connected to and check for firmware updates, with an option to turn on/off auto-updates. Finally, a home page display switch allows you to customize what appears on your app's home screen, and an option to remove the device is available if you no longer wish to use it.
Maintenance features are primarily focused on ensuring the longevity and safe operation of the device. Users are advised not to disassemble or repair the device themselves; in case of a malfunction, contacting the service center is recommended. The camera should be kept away from open flame to prevent explosions or fire and not exposed to extremely high or low temperatures. Avoiding contact with water is crucial for its proper functioning. Additionally, it's important to avoid dropping the device or hitting it with hard objects to prevent strong mechanical stress. The manufacturer explicitly states that they are not responsible for any damage caused by the user. To maintain optimal performance, the device should be kept away from sources of electromagnetic radiation, such as microwaves or refrigerators. When cleaning the device, it's essential to turn off the device before cleaning and not use chemicals or detergents.
