Fitting / Replacing
Modelling Lamps
z ALWAYS switch ‘OFF’ the Pack and remove the connector to isolate the Head
before replacing the modelling lamp.
z If the modelling lamp is not lit but the Head switch is on and the pack controls
have no effect then:-
• Check the operation of other Heads connected to the same Pack. If these do
not work and the Pack appears to be working then check/change the Pack
modelling fuse after checking the Heads for faults or broken lamps.
• Check that the fan is running. If not then check/change the Pack modelling
fuse.
• If the fan is running then check/change the modelling lamp. As the fuse may
blow when a modelling lamp fails, always check/change the modelling fuse in
the Head if the replacement lamp does not work.
z Ensure that the Head has cooled sufficiently before touching the reflector or glass
dome.
z Remove the reflector (Fig.3) to gain access to the glass dome.
z Remove the glass dome by depressing the dome retaining buttons (Fig.3) and
lifting it away from the flash head.
z Take care removing the old modelling lamp from the holder.
z Ensure a replacement modelling lamp of the same voltage as the supply (230 V) is
used.
z Do not touch the replacement modelling lamp with fingers: use clean, impervious
cloth or paper, or the new lamp packaging materials.
z Insert the lamp into the holder positioned in the centre of the reflector.
z Hook the glass dome over one of the dome retaining buttons, depress the other
button and refit dome over the ridge in the top hat. The correct holes are marked.
Ensure that both buttons drop into the retaining holes in the dome.
z Replace the reflector as required.
z Discard the old modelling lamp safely using the packaging from the new lamp.
