Do you have a question about the Braun 3050cc-R and is the answer not in the manual?
This document describes the Braun Series 3 shaver, a device designed for efficient and comfortable dry shaving. It emphasizes safety, proper usage, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
The Braun Series 3 shaver is an electric dry shaver equipped with a flexible shaving system that automatically adjusts to the contours of the face, providing a close and comfortable shave. It features three independently movable cutting elements. The device is powered by rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries, allowing for cordless operation. It can also be used while connected to the power cord if the batteries are discharged.
The shaver includes a long hair trimmer, also referred to as a precision mode switch, which can be slid upwards for trimming sideburns, moustaches, or beards. This feature allows for precise handling in hard-to-shave areas, such as under the nose, by lowering one of the foils.
For enhanced hygiene and convenience, some models of the Series 3 come with a Clean&Charge Station. This station automatically cleans, charges, and lubricates the shaver after each use. The cleaning fluid used in the station contains a small amount of oil, which helps to lubricate the shaver's cutting elements.
To operate the shaver, simply press the on/off switch. For optimal dry shaving results, it is recommended to shave before washing the face, hold the shaver at a 90-degree angle to the skin, and stretch the skin while shaving against the direction of beard growth.
The shaver's charging process is indicated by green charging lights. These lights blink during charging or when the shaver is switched on. Once fully charged, all green lights illuminate permanently when connected to an electrical outlet. A red low-charge light flashes when the battery is running low, indicating that the shaver should be recharged soon, though it should still have enough power to finish a shave. A full charge typically provides about 45 minutes of cordless shaving, depending on beard growth. A quick 5-minute charge is sufficient for a single shave. For the first charge or after several months of disuse, it is recommended to charge the shaver continuously for at least 4 hours to activate the rechargeable batteries.
The Clean&Charge Station simplifies the post-shave routine. After shaving, the shaver should be switched off and placed upside down into the station, ensuring it is dry and free from foam or soap residue. Pressing the start/release button on the station locks the shaver in place and initiates the cleaning process. During cleaning and drying, the yellow cleaning light on the shaver will flash. Once complete (approximately 2 minutes for cleaning and 4 hours for drying), the yellow light will turn off, and the shaver will be fully charged.
Regular cleaning is crucial for maintaining the shaver's performance. The shaver should be cleaned daily, either manually or using the Clean&Charge Station. A yellow cleaning light on the shaver indicates when cleaning is required. If the shaver is not cleaned, this light will eventually turn off, and the shaver's electronics will assume manual cleaning has occurred, resetting the cleaning cycle calculation.
For manual cleaning under running water, the shaver should be switched on (cordless) and rinsed under hot running water until all residues are removed. Liquid soap without abrasive substances can be used. After rinsing, the shaver should run for a few more seconds to remove water droplets. Then, switch off the shaver, remove the Foil & Cutter cassette, and allow it to dry. If regularly cleaned with water, a drop of light machine oil should be applied weekly to the long hair trimmer and the Foil & Cutter cassette.
For brush cleaning, switch off the shaver, remove the Foil & Cutter cassette, and tap it gently on a flat surface to dislodge hair clippings. Use the provided brush to clean the inner area of the shaver head. It is important not to clean the Foil & Cutter cassette with the brush, as this can damage it.
The Clean&Charge Station uses a cleaning cartridge, which is sufficient for about 30 cleaning cycles. A level indicator on the station shows the remaining fluid. When the indicator reaches the "لا" mark, approximately 5 cleaning cycles remain, after which the cartridge should be replaced. For daily users, this typically means replacing the cartridge every 4 weeks. The cleaning fluid contains alcohol (ethanol or isopropanol) and will slowly evaporate once opened, so even if not used daily, cartridges should be replaced every 8 weeks to ensure optimal disinfection. The cleaning fluid also contains lubricants, which may leave residual marks on the shaver head; these can be wiped away with a soft cloth.
To preserve battery capacity, it is recommended to fully discharge the shaver by shaving every 6 months, then recharge it to full capacity.
The Foil & Cutter cassette (shaving parts) should be replaced approximately every 18 months or when worn, to maintain 100% shaving performance. A replacement light on the shaver will illuminate to remind the user. After replacing the cassette, the on/off switch should be pressed for at least 5 seconds to reset the counter. This manual reset can be performed at any time.
When disposing of the product, the internal nickel-metal hydride batteries should be removed. The shaver should be fully discharged, and then the batteries should be carefully extracted according to the instructions provided, taking care not to short-circuit the terminals. The batteries are recyclable and should be taken to appropriate collection points. The product itself should not be disassembled for any reason other than battery removal for disposal.
