Whenever your coffeemaker takes much longer than
normal to brew, the appliance should be decalcified.
1. Fill the water container

to the mark for 1 cup.
2. Add vinegar essence (available at foodstores) to
the mark for 3 cups.
3. Place the glass carafe with the lid onto the hotplate

, engage the filter holder

(without a filter bag)
and switch on the coffeemaker.
4. Allow half of the descaling solution to run through.
5. Switch off the appliance and leave for approx.
10 minutes.
6. Then switch on the appliance again and allow the
rest to run through.
7. Repeat this procedure as many times with a newly
prepared descaling solution as is necessary to
obtain the run-through time of approx. 2 1/2
minutes for 3 cups (without a filter bag and without
coffee).
8. Then empty the descaling solution and allow ap-
prox. 3 cups of cold water to run through at least
twice.
9. Other descaling (decalcifying) agents which do not
affect aluminium may also be used according to
the manufacturer’s instructions for use.
