The main motor part (3) houses the powerful motor and two speed settings: speed «I» (1) for general blending and speed «II» (2) for a turbo boost, ideal for tougher ingredients or faster processing. The core of the Multiquick 5 is its hand blender shaft (5), which is perfectly suited for preparing dips, sauces, soups, mayonnaise, and baby food. It's also excellent for mixing drinks, smoothies, or milkshakes. To use, simply click the motor part onto the blender shaft, position it deep in a bowl or beaker, and then press the desired speed switch. For optimal blending results, speed «II» is recommended. When blending directly in a saucepan while cooking, it's advised to remove the pan from the stove first to prevent splashing of boiling liquid.
Beyond basic blending, the Multiquick 5 offers a range of accessories to expand its functionality:
Whisk (6a, 6b): The whisk attachment is designed specifically for whipping cream, beating egg whites, and mixing sponges and ready-mix desserts. To use, insert the whisk (6b) into the whisk gear box (6a), then attach the motor part. For best results, use a medium-sized bowl, operate at speed «I», and move the whisk clockwise with a slight incline. It can whip up to 400 ml of chilled cream (min. 30% fat content, 4-8 °C) or up to 4 egg whites.
Choppers (8, 9, 10): The Multiquick 5 comes with various chopper attachments, each suited for different tasks.
For all choppers, hard foods like Parmesan cheese or chocolate should always be processed at speed «II». Pre-cutting ingredients like meat, cheese, onions, and carrots into appropriate sizes is recommended. Stems should be removed from herbs, and bones, tendons, and gristle from meat. The anti-slip ring (8d, 9d, 10d) should always be attached to the chopper bowl for stability during operation. The blades of all choppers are very sharp and must be handled with extreme care, always by their upper plastic part.
The Multiquick 5 is designed for ease of use and safety. The click-on system for attaching and detaching accessories is straightforward. The two-speed control allows for precise management of processing intensity, from gentle mixing to powerful chopping. The anti-slip rings on the chopper bowls ensure stability on the countertop during operation.
When using the choppers, it's important to adhere to maximum operation times to prevent overheating and ensure optimal results. For the «hc» chopper, the maximum operation time is 2 minutes for large amounts of wet ingredients and 30 seconds for dry or hard ingredients (or amounts less than 100g/100ml). Processing should be stopped immediately if the motor speed decreases or strong vibrations occur. Extremely hard foods like ice cubes (unless using the dedicated ice blade), nutmeg, coffee beans, or grains should not be processed in the choppers.
Cleaning the Braun Multiquick 5 is designed to be simple and convenient. The motor part (3) and the whisk gear box (6a) should only be cleaned with a damp cloth. The chopper lids (9a, 10a) can be cleaned under running water but should not be immersed in water or cleaned in a dishwasher. All other detachable parts, including the blender shaft, whisk, chopper bowls, and blades, are dishwasher-safe. For extra thorough cleaning, the anti-slip rings can be removed from the chopper bowls.
If processing foods with high pigment content, such as carrots, the accessories may become discolored. These parts can be wiped with vegetable oil before cleaning to help prevent staining.
Safety is paramount in the design and maintenance of the appliance. The blades are extremely sharp, requiring careful handling during assembly, disassembly, and cleaning. The appliance should always be unplugged or switched off when left unattended, and before assembling, disassembling, cleaning, or storing. Children should not play with the appliance, nor should they use it. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards. Hot liquids should be handled with care in the food processor or blender, as they can be ejected due to sudden steaming. The appliance is designed for household use and for processing normal household quantities; no part should be used in a microwave.
