Follow the appropriate welding procedures per the applicable
industry standards that are compatible with the valve
and piping materials being joined While welding monitor
the valve body temperature near the seat pockets using a
temperature indicator stick Ensuring that the temperature
does not exceed C (F)
After welding follow the appropriate post weld heat
treatment (PWHT) procedures per the applicable standards
PWHT shall be performed localized To avoid excessive body
temperatures perform PWHT to one end of the valve and
then normalize to ambient temperature before proceeding to
the second end of the valve
When valve components and piping have cooled to ambient
temperature remove body bolting and body Turn valve stem
to closed position an insert the ball
Turn valve stem to open position and insert seats and new
inner body seals
NOTICE
Use spare body gaskets for reassembly as the original body
gasket will have been compressed during the original assembly
and tightening of the body bolts
Place body between the two end connections then replace
all bolts Lubricate threads and the bolt and nut faces in
contact with the end caps with grease compatible with the
media
NOTICE
Body boltsbody nuts must be tightened in a cross or star
pattern to prevent uneven loading of the body seal
Tighten the body bolts in a cross pattern per Figure based
on number of fasteners per body joint Fastener torque
should applied at and and once more at
increments per Table values to ensure proper gasket
seating
After Installation
After valve has been installed in the pipeline and prior to any
system testing or start up tighten the gland locking nut or gland
bolts per Table
