CHARGING
Always follow the indicated steps for charging the battery. The battery can be charged either
inside the Brekr or outside the Brekr. After riding, let the battery cool down for 30 to 60
minutes before charging.
Tip! Scan de QR-code on the side of your battery or go to www.brekr.com/powertips/ for
better support in using the battery.
Always start with the battery
turned o. Turn on the battery
by briey pressing the on/o
button button and wait until
LED 2 and LED 4 are ashing.
Screw the bayonet connector
of the charger onto the battery
so that the arrow stickersare at
the same height. Then tighten
the bayonet tting by rotating it
clockwise and make sure it clicks
into place.
Check if the ‘HV’ led on the
battery lights up. Does it not
light up? Then reconnect the
charger until the ‘HV’ led lights
up.
Plug the charger into the power
outlet. The battery is charging
when the charger shows a red
light.
Once the battery is 100%
charged, the light on the
charger will turn green.
When the battery is suciently
charged, unscrew the bayonet
connector on the battery.
Turn o the battery by holding
the on/o button for 3 seconds.
All LEDs on the battery will turn
o after this.
Then reconnect the battery
pack to the Brekr. Tighten the
bayonet tting by turning it
clockwise and make sure it
clicks into place.
Ready to ride again!
Current battery charge
You can check the current battery charge by:
• Reading the current range on the left side of the display when the moped is turned on.
• Disconnecting the battery from the Brekr and pressing the on/o button briey. The 5
LEDs light up according to the degree of charge. Each lit LED represents ± 20%.
Tip! It is not harmful to charge the battery 100% and/or drive it completely empty, but the
most ideal charging percentage is between 20% and 80%. When you don’t need the full
100%, you can also choose to disconnect the battery from the charger earlier. In this case,
rst disconnect the charger from the power outlet and then disconnect the battery from the
charger.
Storage, maintenance and transportation
When you do not use the Brekr and/or the battery for an extended period of time, make sure
that the battery is stored carefully to maximize its lifespan:
• Charge the battery 50% to 60% when you are not going to use it for more than a month.
• Disconnect the battery from the Brekr or charger when you store it.
• Make sure the battery is o. You turn the battery o by pressing the on/o button for 3
seconds. If no LED lights up, the battery pack is turned o.
• Both the battery pack and charger should be stored in a clean, dry and well-ventilated
place, away from corrosive materials, power and heat sources. The ambient
temperature should be between 10°C and 30°C and the relative humidity (RH) less than
65 percent.
• Every two months, you should briey use the battery. After that, store it again with a 50
to 60 percent charge.
• After long-term storage, you should charge the battery 100% before use.
• The GPS module has its own battery which get power from the battery. After 30 days
without power from the bigger battery, this battery will be empty. When you reconnect
the battery, the GPS module battery recharges itself.
Further
Keep the battery away from re and heat sources. It is forbidden to throw the battery into
the re. Only specied and original chargers may be used to charge the Brekr battery. This
charger and battery have been subject to strict inspection before leaving the factory and it is
strictly forbidden to disassemble the battery or charger, otherwise the warranty will be void.
MAINTAINGING THE BATTERY
The Brekr model B has an advanced battery equipped with a Batter Management System
(BMS). The capacity of every battery decreases with use. Therefore, always treat your battery
with care for a longer lifespan.
Both the battery and the charger should be placed in a dry environment. Charge the
battery only at an ambient temperature between 0 °C and 40 °C and preferably at room
temperature. When the battery itself is too warm (for example immediately after use) it will
not be able to charge. The battery will show this by all 5 LEDs ickering briey and the HV
light going out briey. You have to let the battery cool down gradually to room temperature
Caution! Never put the battery away empty. If the battery is completely empty, charge it rst.
Storing a dead battery can cause deep discharge and irreparably damage your battery. This
is not covered under warranty.
