Why Briggs & Stratton Water Pump engine will not start?
    • J
      justinfrazierJul 31, 2025
If your Briggs & Stratton Water Pump engine won't start, lacks power, runs rough, or falters, check the rocker switch is set to 'On' and the fuel valve is in the 'On' position. Make sure the air cleaner is clean (clean or replace it if dirty). Ensure the fuel tank isn't empty (wait two minutes before refilling). Drain the fuel tank and carburetor if the fuel is stale or contaminated, then fill with fresh fuel. Verify the spark plug wire is connected to the spark plug, and replace the spark plug if it's bad. If the engine is flooded, wait 5 minutes and try re-cranking.

Why is my Briggs & Stratton Pro not supplying enough air?
    • M
      Micheal HansonAug 5, 2025
Several factors can cause your Briggs & Stratton Air Compressor to not supply enough air. It could be due to prolonged excessive air use, or the compressor might be too small for your air requirement. Inspect the hose for holes and replace it if needed. A restricted air intake filter could also be the culprit; try cleaning or replacing it. If the motor overload protector switch has tripped, let the motor cool for 15 minutes and then press RESET. The motor will start automatically when tank pressure drops below the cut-in pressure setting.

What to do if my Briggs & Stratton Air Compressor has air losses?
    • J
      Jonathan BurnsAug 10, 2025
If your Briggs & Stratton Air Compressor is losing air, start by tightening any loose quick connect fittings where you hear air escaping; replace the fittings if necessary. Manually operate the safety valve by pulling on the ring. If the valve continues to leak, have it replaced at an authorized service center.

How to troubleshoot low pump output on a Briggs & Stratton Water Pump?
    • S
      Sharon MartinezAug 15, 2025
If your Briggs & Stratton Water Pump isn't pumping water well, first, make sure the pump is primed by filling the pump chamber with water. Then, check the suction hose for any restrictions, collapses, damage, excessive length, or if the diameter is too small; replace it if needed. Ensure the strainer is fully submerged. Look for air leaks at the suction hose connector; replace the sealing washer if it’s missing or damaged, and tighten the connector and clamp. Also, clear any debris from the strainer. Check the discharge hose for restrictions or damage, and replace if necessary. Reduce the head by relocating the pump or hoses. Finally, ensure the engine speed lever is in the 'Fast' position.
